    Revhendo's - brake line tip = AWESOME

Glad you bumped this one I need to bend some lines myself. Early A though and was thinking about going from the master straight through the inner fender and then down. It's pretty tight with headers on the early A's down by the distribution block in fact I think they have to be relocated...

    70 Disc vs 73 disc

The lower ball joint may be different but the lower control arms are the same unless you have sway bar brackets. The 73+ upper control arms had the bigger ball joint that match the 73+ spindle. IMO the swap to the 73+ brakes and ball joints is good swap from a cost of parts perspective. You have...

Should I swap '72 sbp discs to '73 bbp discs?

73+ brake parts and upper lower ball joints are all considerably less expensive. Throw in the fact there is better wheel selection and that is why the swap is a popular one. Doubt there is much if any performace advantages.

    Disc brace bearing preload

Should be the same for all factory front spindles or alter k. The method I was taught a long time ago. 1. After packing the wheel bearings with grease or for wheel bearing adjustment. 2. Install hubs assemblies with bearings washer and spindle nut. 3. As you turn the hub assembly tighten down...

Help need advice...would u buys these?

I would say that is a great price, especially if the lower ball joints are in decent condition.

Help need advice...would u buys these?

I would buy them pretty quick, they won't last long. That looks like the light weight drag race set up. I would run them on the street over the 9" drum any day. The 73+ disc brakes would probably be better for heavy duty street use.

    Pucks for KH calipers

rockauto.com I have ordered from rockauto. Out of the eight I bought one was bad out of the box and had to be returned. Chrome plating was chipping. I prefer the stainless pistons but they are harder to find.

    '72 disc brakes vs '73

The 73+ spindles have the bigger ball joint in the upper A arms. So they will need upper A arms, different ball joints, and the brake hardware as well. It 's a nice upgrade as the parts are easier to find and cost are less for ball joints, rotors, and calipers compared to the 72 and earlier...

    Trouble bleeding Wilwood brakes

Have you tried just opening the valve and let it gravity bleed for like five minutes. I would just do one at a time farthest away just like typical bleeding of system. I have had mixed results doing that. Some times it will work, other times not so much.

    11 3/4 brakes

Those are some big old brakes. I'm sure they will stop your car and a 10,000 pound trailer. Only bad thing is they look heavy heavy heavy.:D

Kelsey Hayes 4 piston calipers help

The ones I have taken apart the chrome on the pistons have been bad. That's one reason there so hard to get apart. I second just buying a rebuilt if you can find them. I like the stainless piston rebuilt caliper but they are pricey. I have a couple sets of cores laying around I'm going to try...

9" drums all around...not diggin' it!

Willwood makes a 9" spindle kit here is a picture of mine. Mine doesn't have the small bolt pattern but I think the newer kits do. The 9" and 10" spindles kits are different part numbers http://www.jegs.com/i/Wilwood/950/140-2722-BD/10002/-1?parentProductId=744530#moreDetails

Is there a difference between 71 and 74 disc brake components? looking to convert

There is a difference. The early disk brakes where a 4 piston caliper small bolt pattern on the wheels. The later 73 and later disk is a single piston caliper large bolt pattern on the wheels. The later 73+ is a popular upgrade as it gives the big bolt pattern for wheels. In addition the...

11.75" Brakes on an A body

So I have been seeing the brackets off of F,M,J body cars to put 11.75" calipers and rotors on the 73 and later A body disk spindles. Would this be a good upgrade for say a autocross or road racing car? Besides the weight probably being a little heavier than an aftermarket performance kit. Does...

    Disc brake pricing?

Doesn't seem like a bad price. With time on your side you may possible be able to do better. Things like spindle nuts, brake caliper bolts and brackets are often hard to find. So you really need to make sure everything is there. For that reason I like the ideal of pulling the parts off the...

Is it worth replacing Kelsey Hayes 4 piston

The hardest part I have found is getting the pistons out. there is some tricks online. The best seems to use the hydralic brake system to pop them out. You can remove pads and reinstalling caliper on rotor or using a block of wood in between pistons where caliper normally is. Sorry I don't...

    Verify my brakes... (pics)

Pretty sure you need backing plates to match the drums keep that in mind when changing. Regarding the drums FYI on the A body cars I think the fronts are 10" X 2" and the rears are 10" X 1.75" The A body drum is most likely out of a 1970-72 car as they had the belled drum like that...

73 disc brake install on 68 Dart

73 disc brake install on 68 Dart

No I just called the local napa and autozone warehouse stores and asked for a 73 disc/drum master cylinder. Might have to order online from rockauto. Never pulled out the residual valve, but now that you mentioned it aren't they just inside where the brake line plumbs in to the master. Might...
