10's on $5,000 ?

I've read on some of the truck forums that the CPPA/TTI B&E body headers work with only a little grinding on the left side of the frame for the number seven tube. There are also some interference issues between four wheel drives vs two wheel drive trucks because the tire sits a little farther back, more inboard, and closer to the fender in a two wheel drive. The A body fender wells are reported to work with some massaging on a two wheel drive but still have some clearance issues. I think a set of elephant ear mounts may be useful for more conventional headers just to get the standard mounts out of the way. I wouldn't run anything smaller than a 1-3/4 primary tube, the other people that are using the welded header, B&E body, and fenderwell sets are doing it because they need the larger 1-7/8 or 2 inch tube sizes.
I've heard that about B/E body headers. Never tried it, but I have a set. I'll see when that time comes how close they fit.

A junkyard LQ4 6.0 liter LS with a pair of budget (or one great big one from a semi) turbochargers.May not be the answer anyone wants to hear but it's the easiest way of making it happen and come in under budget while not being as fragile as a junkyard 5.7 under boost.

I will use NOS before I do a LS swap, and I'm NOT using NOS !!! :thankyou:

Turbos add power for sure. But you need to set the short block up for it. A lot of people are using the Chinese turbos off of ebay for cheap.

I am an N/A guy myself. I found that searching off the craigslist HEMI link you posted. I will say this having built my wife a 3G HEMI, open your wallet wide.

  • My sons Scat Pak killed the big 1LE SS 6.2 LS 6 speed manual Camaro. Went from a roll and let the LS floor it first.
  • I raced the 5.3 LS in a truck with my 318, 2.76 geared Duster and I killed it.
  • I can boost my 318 and go fast
Here, I'm providing a place for LS talk. Please don't pollute this thread.

My thoughts are...... playing with cars/trucks and going to the track is all about fun.

If 318will wants to run the truck as is to get a baseline...... if you’ll have fun doing it...... I say go for it.
Well I push the green button and 100% agree with you.. I would like to refer you to the title of the thread.. it wasn't 318is going to buy a truck and see how fast you could make it go... Simply 10's on 5K..
So far some guy got $1,300... and this might not even be the vehicle that he's talking about... the start of the thread should have said I'm going to start a big Fiasco and no beginning and no end....

I used headers on my last BB 2wd truck and they fit like a glove, but I have no idea what brand they were..... :realcrazy: Everything I'm finding is for W and not D trucks.

some say they work, but just need to add 1/4 inch spacer on drivers side mount
I thought the only headers you were ever going to buy was dug's... ???

I fit in the reality group, thanks! :)

Turbos and blowers are okay but not nitrous LOL..
I got a laugh after doing the research on nitrous that someone's just going to say they're going to pop it on there and off they go no problem LOL...
Nitrous fits this bill perfectly...
People see those kits on Summit and think that that's just that. Buy one of those kids and off you go LOL...
If you think that you're in for a lot of surprises...

Just curious, IF the truck DOES indeed go 10.99, what ya'll-Nay-sayers gonna say???? I bet whisper quietly one by one we sneak out the back door.... :D :D :D
The words unbelievable come to mind..
Bull crap!... And a few others along that line LOL
You know you can probably just put a 300 shot on that 318 and reach your goal within $2,000 LOL..

Boost has been a part of factory equipment for decades, including Mopars of the past and present. Adding boost is a complete mechanical function. Not a genie in a bottle.

Being a Mopar a body site so far the best we've seen out of you is a 13-2 so let's just start working in the realms of reality and go forward from there..
Not hatin just sayin..
