Hello All

Here I am again needing help and showing off my ignorance. I have a 1964 273 that can not be salvaged as far as the block it self goes.

I was given a 1966 273. I was in the process of having my 64 machined and rebuilt when the bad news came that the 64 block was no good.

What I am trying to find out is this... I have a 4 barrel manifold from a 65 273 that was going on the 64.

Can the 65 4 barrel manifold be used on the 66 273?
Can the heads from the 64 be used on the 66? (I had already had the 64 heads rebuilt)
Is there anything I need to plan for that is not "swappable" with the 66 block.

I hope this was not too confusing. Thanks for any and all help.

Not without modification. The 64 and 65 273's had smaller intake bolts and at a different angle than the 66 and newer engines.

If you use the early heads ('64) on the '66 block, the '65 intake will be just fine. Everything else should swap as well.

Or to put it another way, it's the heads and intake, and not the block, that is the problem.

Thanks so much! This is a big help!!! I will swap the 64 heads over to the 66 block and then will use the 65 4barrel intake too.

I greatly appreciate the help and instruction!
