Corner post all welded in and the fender mocked up. The alignment is as perfect as one can expect! I was possessed by a welding great today. Some of the best welds I have ever done. Will work on getting the fender fixed and installed tomorrow. Dropping the mike and exiting stage right today.

a nice set of wheels can transform a vehicle like you wouldn't believe. your eyes are drawn away from (in this case) bodywork and strangely you can 'see' how it'll look all done (well i can, lol). keep at it jim, it'll be a cracker

Lotta work! You're kicking Tail, Awesome Job! Looks like my old 68 Coronet has a relative there! And I sometimes get things running, that isint in my main skill sets, seems like God sends my departed Tradesman Friends by to guide me.

Not much to report. Squirreled by fixing some paint on a friends 1966 Satellite and cutting and buffing it. 3 days I won’t get back but he is going to rebuild the 727 for the A100 for me in trade.

Inner fender is repaired and all tacked it. Outer fits nice but still needs some repairs from cut out lips from wide tires in its past. Door gaps look good.
The used fender I got had been hammer rolled and the top is the lip was ground off. Needed to fix that. The fender is so much stronger now. Notice I left a small lip so I was not welding a seam and that lip ensures the shape of the fender does not change. Also reuse of old patches to save $$
Inner fender and foot step structure all welded in and backsides of everything epoxy primed. It will never rust there again. All ready to slap on the outer fender and get the headlight bucket skin fitted and welded in.
Outer fender and rear post “shoe” patched back in. Looking like it’s gonna work great. Next up the corner sheet metal.

That is pure artwork. Amazing!
Thanks Rick Schuler for gathering all those sheetMetal scraps. Having pieces of the correct profile is making this a snap to make patches.
Another day another few patches done and with that I could take out one of the last bad pieces on this side. I needed it for alignment of the new metal on todays patch. I need to go to town and get some 18 gauge since my patch panels don’t have this rocker piece.
Mark, grind, fit repeat over and over for minimal gaps. Weld, cool, planish, grind repeat over and over.

Following along on Facebook. This is just great, Jim.
Had to cut the roof frame and space it to get the door to fit better in the upper front corner. I had to rebuild 90% of that structure and it likely shrunk when I welded it. Fits nice now. Inner structure all welded and finished. Need to go to town tomorrow and get a few more bags of media the another few hours of blasting and the cab is ready to prime. It has been a much longer journey than I wanted but the one that buys this truck can be assured there is NO rust in the cab and I have ton of photos to prove it!
