What a waste of a rare car.73 or not,it,s a 340,4 speed sunroof car.:angry7:
That is a shame! I'd L-O-V-E to own this car!
This car was with a package deal of cars and parts I bought. Look on this site under "Mopar cars for sale" and look for "1972 Duster V8 Project". Maybe I should have listed the 73 with the 72 as a parts car! Need to sell both cars. Thanks for all the info.
Save it!! thats my vote.. lol..
I agree save it...
Save it!!!! My old 1973 340-4spd sunroof/fold down seat Duster was just in Mopar Muscle. You would be one of about 7 people that have that combo of options.
There you go......save it!
Don't cut the roof off. The car is too clean as is. Just put the pieces back together, and sell the thing whole. As said above, they don't make these anymore!!!
is there a fender tag? did they put reverse lights on the dash in 73? is it there? could it be a 3 speed.?
I see everyone is telling him to save it but nobody has stepped in with cash to buy it. It is his car and if it is not worth what he can get in parts then you can only blame yourself for not stepping up and buying it. Money talks BS walks.
Takes patience to find the right buyer. expect one to show up overnight do you?
There's always got to be one.
i have been asking to buy it from him!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!, but he has yet to give a direct answer. lol it is hard to buy something when seems to me like they do not want to sell it. i am waiting back to get the codes from the fender tag from him that and build sheet is the only way to prove it to be a 4 speed car origionally
the math, what do you have in it / what do you want out of it? Got paperwork? Got time? Got deep pockets? Got the original motor + trans? Or do you just think it could be fun to do? Cool that's it a low production numbers car, but without the 'numbers matching' how rare is it?
Yup why put 10 grand or more in a car thats only worth 7 grand.
Thanks to all for the info. Thanks to chryslerfat for backing me up. He sounds like he might also be self employed in construction during the winter with a slow economy, pays $$$ for his own health insurance, and has kids in college. Have to watch the pennies. That's why I'm trying to figure out the best return on these cars while trying to keep them intact. I dreamed of dropping a modern Hemi into the 318 car for a daily driver and slammin' a 440 and 4 link into the caged car for a fun strip car. Not going to happen anytime soon. Selling is tough too. The only offer I've had for the whole 340 car so far is $300. But I've been offered $200 just for the pedals and hump, more than one guy wants the sunroof, and the remains are worth $150 in scrap. Any hesitation to do anything with these cars is done to try to save them. And the fender tag does say it was a 4 speed car.
Bob's a nice guy and making solid reality based choices with this car. I'd say if someone believes it's worth saving, then step up and save it...lol. I'm sure Bob will be happier knowing it's going to be fixed.
