i just got my 340/416 back from the machine shop and put my edelbrock heads on with my rocker shafts (273 adjustable) and wanted to make sure I had the shafts positioned correctly to get oil flow. So I put a new filter on it and filled with oil , pumped it up with the drill and I have all kinds of oil flow to the lifters but none to the cylinder heads. I took the shaft off of one bank and there is no flow coming up through the pedestal on the head. I am thinking maybe my head gaskets are blocking the hole? I used Felpro 1008 head gaskets. Please help before I buy new head gaskets and pull the heads.

How do they put the caramel in the Caramilk bar?
How did the human footprints get into the dinosaur tracks?
Are the Egyptian depictions of Giants with animal heads....... just depictions?
How do I tell my wife of 42 years, whom I love very much, that she's fat and I am concerned about her health, because two of her sisters and her mother got fat fell down broke a hip went to hospital and died there.Another sister got fat and just died, like a brother also did, and a fourth sister also is fat and has health issues related to the fatness. A fifth sister is skinny because of health issues.A second brother is also unhealthy but not fat. See, fatness and health issues run in her family. She is only 61, and exceptionally healthy 65 year old me would like to have her around for a couple of more decades. Common FABO, how do I broach this and live?

Hey, I was invited by Darter6; he said this was the place to go for answers. lol

I don't care about the weight gain, I just want her to be around a lil longer; and the grim reaper is working his way down the list. She only has one older sister left, and that one ain't doing too good. Three older sisters are all gone.

turn the dampener to 1/4 turn (90 deg) BTDC #1 compression. there might be a partial slit (3 of em) in addition to the full timing slit) or cut a strip of paper 5.694" to use as a ruler & preoil the pass bank then turn it to 20 ATDC #6 compression & oil the drivers bank.

On a small block:
Turn the motor to 90* before top dead center coming up on #1 compression. The pass. side rockers should get oil.
Turn the motor to 20* after top dead center just past #6 compression. The drivers side rockers should get oil.
