You really do have a god-given talent I don't know if you took after your father or mother but somebody put it in your bloodline and you are so good at what you do...nothing left alone...attention to detail to everything!!! Best of luck, Will

That bracket is correct. It connects to the dash by the ears on each side. The speaker screws into the bracket before you mount it. Here is one in a dash from a 65 Dart.

It was the same in my 66 Valiant. I solved the speaker problem by making a plywood cutout to take the place of the bracket, then mounting a pair of small (can't remember now but no more than 4") speakers to the plywood. Because I'm a cheeseball I used plumber's tape to hold the plywood to the original mounting studs - it's worked fine for the six years it's been in there. In my case sound quality was fine and I didn't care it was all coming from the center of the dash.

FYI, you know someone who has a 65 Dart dash with speaker and bracket, for which he has no use. Just sayin'. He also has a loose bracket (no speaker) that could be used to make a template.

back to the plywood/mdf sprayed black then? at least you can mount 2 speakers for stereo sound that way tooThat’s ok Ray, thanks for looking;). I’ll figure something out![]()

Just being silly....lol. Glad y'all are home safe and sound. You guys![]()

Just smarter in your old age.You can tell how old I am by the facts.
Now days,,, I care less about how fast,
I care less about a radio.
But.. when I musty have AC or PS, I am almost aged out of the hobby! Or maaaybe just getting soft!![]()
That, my friend, is highly debatable!!!!Just smarter in your old age.
I like to have the option. If she is rambling radio delete is no help... But the old Alpine radio cassette player allows me to drown out that babble with a little Sabbath. If it's a good day I turn it way down to some softer sound from the Eagles. The little 273 4 gear with the original exhaust resonator sounds good either way.Nowadays, I like to hear my radio and be able to talk to my husband while I drive~ so lesser amount of engine noise/exhaust is a good thing;)
