Guess it's time to just start a thread on my build. Some of you know I'm adding a procharger to my junkyard 5.9 magnum. Some of these things I've already done and will post pictures, others I will post along the way.
I did dragweek last year for the first time just to see how I liked it. Car averaged 12.27 @ 108 when combining all 5 time slips. Needless to say I wasn't competitive with those times but I caught the bug. Told my wife it will be a 10 second car next year on the way home. Shooting for 10.50's this year so I can make it into the top 32 cars in Street Machine Eliminator and enter the bracket race on the last day.
So that leads up to the transformation. Below is a list of what I've done to get ready.
- Pulled the 3.91 geared 8 3/4 and replaced with a 3.54 geared Dana 60 from junkyard. Moser 31 spline axels and powerlock sure grip from Dr. Diff
- Pulled old worn out interior and install 6 point roll bar. Since interior was out I had the seats re upholstered and installed new carpet.
- Pulled fuel tank to install 1/2 sending unit and install -8 bulkhead fitting for a -8 return line. Ran -8 feed and return to an aeromotive boost referenced fuel pressure regulator. Also installed electric fuel pump.
- Pulled heads to install ARP head studs and thicker cometic head gaskets. Also changed to an M1 single plane intake manifold.
- Installed moroso high volume water pump and high volume 180 degree thermostat.
- Installed P1-SC procharger.
Currently working on pumbing to the blow through Holley carb.
