Hello guys

What's the easier and better way to remove and install the yoke seal on a A833 without the Mopar special tools?
:thankyou:
François

You WILL need the special tool for the bushing install. I took mine to someone who had the tool.

Pull the tail shaft housing, take it to a shop that has the proper sized drivers, and have them pressed in and out. Quick job and pretty straight forward.

Thank you very much guys, but now I realize that the tail shaft housing has to be removed from the main case....

Is it possible to remove the tail shaft housing without the mainshaft coming with it?

I'm a total newbie in transmissions and dismanteling the gearbox in two exceeds my meager skills.
I think that I will only replace the tailshaft seal

No, tail shaft housing will NOT unbolt and slide off the back. You have to remove the side cover assy & forks, then remove the mainshaft/tailshaft as an assembly.

Run over to MyMopar.com and download a copy of the service manual, they are free. Some of them over there got there because of the guys right here

Some of them, you have to settle for a year ahead or behind, or Plymouth/ vs Dodge, etc. So check both listings.

Thanks Dan. Very useful to have the opinion of a specialist
I’m not going to embark on such a complex job.

Next week, I will order some parts from you. I'm preparing my list... ;)

Hi.
Of course, I've already downloaded the FSM and I saw removing the tailshaft housing involves the complete disassembly of the gearbox :BangHead:

you dont need to disassemble the tranny, crack the bushing with a small screwdriver, then take a bigger one and open the "puzzle" line. See the fine atop the blue line.
