Wow, the rain just wont stop.
I live in Lyons Colorado, its been raining for 3 days. 2:45 this morning we got a reverse 911 call, saying of you live near the river (st.vrain) you need to evacuate immediately.

Well we live on the high side of town, away from the river so we are doing OK. The elementary school, 1/2 block from my house is being used as an evacuation center. I hear there are 200 people there from the evacation last night.

Still it rains, at this point its basically impossible to leave Lyons. us36 to EstesPark, is closed. 36 from Lyons to Boulder is closed. 34 from Estes to Loveland is closed.

Even worse down in Boulder, they have had close to 8" of rain in the last two days, roads are flooded all over, my wifes work at NIST is closed, all boulder county offices are closed, schools are closed.

Boulder creek way over its banks, same with N and S st. vrain rivers.

Were getting ready to go out for a walk and see what things look like. Suppose to continue to rain all day, and tomorrow.

Wheres my wood and my saw, and whats a cubit ?

yea I saw a brand new red Mercedes coupe with water covering the cowl going north on caver creek road... I almost lost it even in the jeep, filter got wet and then it was angry, had to let it dry out.

Holy Cow !

Much worse that I ever imagined on the south side of town. The whole south side is basically part of the river now, must be under 3-5 feet of water, fast moving active water.
Cars overturned, houses with water several feet up the side of the house. Hwy66 is also closed, a stretch of the hwy about 1/4 mile long is under 3 feet of fast moving water where the river is flooding across the highway.

Geez man!!!! 40 days and nights in that thing with 2 of every animal on the planet? Who the hell got stuck cleaning up that mess?!?!

The water has to go somewhere. I think Colorado is getting the rain that we normally get over here in the Northwest. We have had basically no rain for the last two months. And yes, we are accustomed to annual floods. A few years ago there was 6 feet of water over the top of Highway 101.

I hope everybody stays safe; when I lived in Texas, I recall people drowning every year in the flash floods.

Normally when we walk across this bridge and look down at the water its about 12 foot down, now its coming over the top of the bridge

Oh man o man o man, it is bad up there by you. Be safe sir. 34 is washed out, 72 is washed out bad in Coal Creek Canyon and I think 66 washed out too.
