I need to remove the windshield from this car…
The dash frame needs to be repainted so the glass is coming out. I want to reuse the windshield but getting it out is easier when the gasket is just cut away.
I don’t know if this windshield or gasket is original. I have parted out several cars over the years, many 74-76 Dusters and Dart Sports. I saved miscellaneous parts including windshield gaskets. The car is a 1972 model. It has a partial folding flap along the bottom and a removable lock strip that fills the rest of the groove along the sides and top. One used gasket I have here has a groove all the way around like the reproductions seem to have. This is different from the gasket that is in this car now. Here are some new ones I saw online:
If they all look the same when the trim is in place, I don’t care.
My question is….was there a change in these gaskets through the 1970-76 productions of these cars?
I can buy new if needed but it would be nice if I can use what I have.
Thank you.
