Building a Duster for the wife.

LOL @ the shot!

I stopped saying it’ll be done by Xxxx. Now it’s just, “It’ll be done when it’s done and not a moment sooner.” If anybody asks when is that, I just shrug my shoulders and walk away, obviously mentally short they are. I can’t fix or help that.

Cleaned up one of my 15x8 rims today.

Getting ready to take the dash apart. I see two wires that were unplugged. Not sure witch wire goes where. Anyone know ?

Actually three. The one with the male spade terminal on what looks like a condenser plugs into the same female plug as the instrument cluster voltage regulator.

Pink and white?
Maybe the brake pedal switch wires
That’s a possibility, I didn’t think of that but I was thinking maybe they went to the two silver things on the back of the cluster that don’t have wires going to them. One is for voltage for the gauges the other maybe the radio ??

Worked on a few things the pass week or so. Got the firewall in last night and a little more done on the dashboard.

Looks good Brian.
What paint did you use on the dashboard?

Ugh I knew I forgot something explains why my lights in dash no Bueno lol. I'm blind had picture didn't notice oh well I will connect and test it. I'm replacing my restored cluster with inteltronix. Like the work your doing on this thread.

Put a new wood grain inlay on the gauge cluster. I’m very happy with the results.

Picked up a little something last weekend. Not sure if I will put it in the Scamp or Duster.

IDK if that was a mention to leave tips and comments on YouTube but I’ll say the Magnum engine is as you probably know 245hp as it sits so a mild cam will help a little there. If you can get dual exhaust up the manifolds, I personally would go with a 2-1/2 dual exhaust. That would be very good for that size engine and power level.

You didn’t mention the gear ratio I think but OD is great to have. I have a ‘00-5.9 topped with a Edelbrock 750 AFB, Air Gap & Hooker headers @ 1-3/4. This combo make a tic over 300hp. A 727/2500 stall and 3.55’s on 245/60/15’s back the rest of the car up.

The stock cam is still used and rolls over around that 4500 rpm area. It will still rev higher but the power is on the down slope noticeably.

I agree a small cam would be best. IDK where your looking to bump up the power rpm wise with a cam but I’d also keep it small around a tiny 210/212 duration @050.

Enjoy the Magnum!
