Calanders are ready

-
Dont feel bad Mike. I saw this in my "new posts" and thought "cool FABO calenders"..... so you arent alone.

It's a cool idea. Back when I was on the MML we did calendars. The way they "selected" what cars were going in was, people submitted a pic (or maybe a couple) of their car. Then the pics were posted and voted on. The cars with the most votes went in the calendar.

I was fortunate enough to have my (ex) Challenger in twice

(for those who don't know, the MML is a mass mailer and NOT a Forum like this. So the pics were hosted and it was setup so you could vote for 12 cars. I guess it was something like a poll, cause you could only vote once)

I would be more then happy to support a FABO calendar
And take five if Adam wanted to get some made up.
How much were they in back in 05 Adam?

I doubt there is enough time to put something together for '09....at least not in time for January (and possibly Febuary) to be of any use.

All the pics need to be high resolution (or should be). For the MML they preferred real photographs to be submitted. Then the pics will have to be sent to whoever will be handling the scanning and hosting. Those pics will have to be received by a certain date so it doesn't continue to draw out. The scanning, hosting, and polling will need to be set up, and then some time limit will have to be set for voting. Once the pics are decided upon, then names etc will have to be verified if they are to be included with the pics. THEN it would all need to go to a printer.

So maybe an 18 month calendar starting in (say) July '09 would make more sense.

LOL me too. I went to the store saw decals, shirts and jackets and freaked out and got pissed that I missed out. Then I looked at the date LOL.

T thats a good idea. To be honest Id order some if someone collected some pics from the members and decided which ones to use themself to get a 12 month calendar done for next year.

Here's a page from a couple years ago.

I did calenders for Prowleronline for 3 years. It takes a lot of time to put together a great calender.

I would suggest if someone would take on the project to do like I did my 1st. Made and 18 month calender starting in July of next year. This gives plenty of time to get pictures, layout set up, special dates on calender (mopar Nats, Carlisle, Mopar at the strip, ETC)

The way we did it was have everyone send the pictures to me and between me, my wife and the guy that actually printed them choose the best and tried to get one of each color Prowler (12 colors) and then some modified ones.

An online poll would be nice but I think it is better for everyone to be SURPRISED to see their car in the calender and online voting everyone would know who made it.

I would love to see my car in a calender and need to get some for next year.

If you go ahead with the project I can see if I can find the requirements/guidelines we used to give hints on what makes a good picture.

It is hard to believe but we got pictures taken in peoples driveway with stop signs, trees growing out of cars, corners cut off, out of focus, other cars and just crap pictures.

If it happens I'm in for a calender or 2

not the best but a clean 3/4 front view, clean background

then some smaller close up shots to fill blank squares on calender pages is cool

The voting is good, cause then you don't have a person or two thinking "well we gotta have what's-his-name's car in there even though the picture sucks"

Also you don't let the people see the number of votes a car gets. Then when it's over, you can reveal the "winners" if you want

this is a great idea. voting will be great, but only one vote per member to keep it honest and you should not be able to vote for yourself. i would buy won even if i was not in it. keeping it a surprise would kill me.

I think you should be allowed to vote for your own car, but you'll also be voting on another 11 or 17 cars as well
