I have a 67 Valiant, I will soon be welding in 1.5" dom tubing to mount my bucket seats to.
Basic plan is 2 tubes going from drivers side, bending over the trans tunnel to passenger side with 4 cross tubes between those and tabs to bolt the seats to.
What I am contemplating is how to mount the tubes.
Option 1) Flat steel welded to the sheet metal/factory steel reinforcement the stock seats originally bolted to.
Option 2) Depending on tube steel subframe connector possibilities, if I can reasonably make subframe connectors with tube steel, I may do that and tie the seat tubes to the subframe connectors.
Will any of you that have custom subframe connectors (aka cage work) related to what I am describing, I would appreciate it
(pic is a loose idea of what I want to do inside, definitely not dimensionally correct)
