So, I'm shopping around for a set of cheaper headers for my '71 Valiant, and was wondering if the power steering gets in the way?
i cant say it's a universal thing but i know getting my headers off the 318 was a major pain in the neck. had to remove the starter, the power steering box and part of the steering linkage. i re-read the manual and the instructions from summit and evidently this is common practice.
hope that helps somehwhat.
jason how did yo get the bolts back in the steering box, I can't seem to get mine in
Sticking with the stock exhaust manifolds is sounding more and more appealing to me now!
I used the cheap summit´s own brand headers in my ´69 dart 340, power steering, ministarter. Passenger side was an easy fit, drivers side made some trouble on the steering box, pitman arm and the coupler. I´m sure they are an easy fit with manual box.
