Don't Laugh at Military Graves

-
That laughter and disrespect obviously came from someone who never served and know nothing about sacrifice for our country and freedom they enjoy.

So when someone visits Arlington, they're not allowed to talk or laugh?
This past spring when I visited my father's grave (WWII vet Africa, Sicily, Italy) with my sister, we talked and laughed. Just as he would have wanted it.

So much for the freedom to speak and laugh.

Oh no. The guard merely "requested." The crowd decided to give the proper respect. That's all. You go to the public library and the staff will tell you to mind your behavior.

When your watching the changing of the guard, your not supposed to talk. Its respectful.

i think if you are going to go to the unknown soldier's grave and laugh and be disrespectful that you should get your *** beat and be taught some respect. it should be common freaking sense.

no, it obviously came from a disrespect douchebag. you don't need to serve to understand what is disrespectful in that situation.

Good. Appropriate time to do that. Not appropriate time for the ignorant tourists to be laughing.

Seems like everywhere you look, or are at in this country, people have a lack of respect and reverence and not much morals for anything, and it should be common sense and the general principle of the matter, no self disciplene or honor...seems he got their attention...

I thought that we weren't supposed to insult other members in this forum. :wack:

I have a problem when the authority figures get to break the same rules that they are supposed to enforce on others. Hypocritical....

Baliff, whack his pee-pee and give him and infraction....
:violent1:

was that a forum member laughing in that video? no it wasn't (as far as i know) so i did not insult someone from this forum.

if it was a member then i stand by my comment.

I took your comments as being directed toward pacuda59 for his comment about free speech. Sorry.

This was actually posted on here some time ago. I didn't "look it up" but I believe there are signs requesting people to not only not talk, but to stand (if they are able) at attention as if saluting the flag. during the ceremony. Your are not to lollygag, not to lean sloppily on the railing, and so on.

This changing of the guard is an official military act. It is not a show and it is not light entertainment.

This area is essentially a military installation. I can guarantee you and I mean I can FLAT guarantee you that whatever you "think" your rights are, that if you, for some reason, are challenged "by the guard" at any military installation, you WILL toe the line. If you do not do as requested, you will be detained, you will probably be put into civilian police detainment, and at the very least WILL be escorted by whatever means right off the installation.

And for those of you who think you're young and tough, and think this would be a great time and place to exercise the limits of "your freedoms" in the best traditions of, say, Beevus and Butthead, my advice would be , "don't."

Yes there are signs. If a person can't respect these wishes they don't belong there.
These unknown soldiers should be honored and respected as all our veterans should. Especially those who have given there lives for their country as these soldiers have.
