i feel kinda bad bcoz this morning i went to a gas station near by and i got some water bottles and some other misc. stuff .....when i was getting my change back the cashier man gave me fake money as change.

i asked him why he gave me fake money and he said that i need to take it....he was very rude and aggitated and seemed like he didnt want it back.

so im not going to argue with a man like that ...so i just left but i feel bad bcoz i want my money and i dont know if i should call the cops over 2 dollars change but i still feel violated.

what should i do ...and has anyone else ever been given fake money for change on a small amount.

the fake money is same color and size so if your not paying attention no problem it could pass but if you read what it says .....its clear as day ...isnt it illeagal to make fake money ?

I hope you're not serious. That's a real $2 bill.

Yes ma'am, you can spend it. Anyone who says it's not real is wrong. They are no longer printed, but they pop up from time to time. I used to pass them out to the kids in church for getting Bible questions right in youth class. They are real as rain.

wow .... lol ...watch out for those 100 dollar bills with 5 dollar strips in them Rani, they are everywhere around here

This is funny Rani, good thing you did`nt call the cops and raise a stink huh?
The cashier should of explained instead of being an ***

You must be pretty young to not have known about these.

well im 26 but i have lived in the US only since i was 15 so i missed that one.

I used to give them as tips to cute waitresses and woman bartenders so they'd remember me. :)

I can see that maybe you haven't seen one in 10--11 years.

I've never understood the reasoning behind a 2. Hell, might as well make a 4, or maybe, an 8 LOL

That's FUNNY that you thought it was fake!!!! I have a bunch of them that my mother used to give my kids in Bday cards.

You should just hang onto it since you've never seen one before!!!!!

I have an elderly friend who has a whole stack of crisp $2 bills that he gives out as tips just so he can tell the server about them and the good old days!?!?

These came out 37 years ago for a very short run.

Hang onto it, it's worth a little bit more (not much) than $2.

no it's not. You can get all you want at the bank. I once got $100 worth just to use as spending money. A lot of younger people don"t know they're real. I had cashiers ask a supervisor if they were real. The same thing happens with presidental dollar coins. I was buying something that was around $20 with 10 of them, the cashier thought they were so cool he put his own $20 bill in the register so he could keep them.

I remember getting the quarter sized Queen elizebeth $1.00 coins back for change they couldn't tell the difference so they quit taking them at our local watering holes
my mother gave us $ 100.00 each in $ 2.00 bills when they came out we all put them away hoping they would be worth something some day, mine will get handed down to my grandaughter when see graduates kidergarden this june. don't worrie about it raini it would be like me getting forein money I have no idea about , but yes they are real if only my mother would have give us all silver bars .
