Well, it's that time of the year again and I fired up the BBQ for the first time last weekend. I used to use a friend's BBQ sauce that he used to make from scratch, but he moved last year. Neither he or his wife will give me the recipe in it's entirety. :cussing: So now I'm back to Open Pit or Bullseye. These are OK, but I'm wondering if anyone (especially you southern boys!) have a good recipe or know of a better commercial brand of sauce.

Thanks!

Brother, my wife makes the best BBQ sauce ever. I won't even let her buy the bottle crap any more! I'll see if I can bribe her for the recipe.

We host "ribfest" every year in Burlington, and these dudes bring some awesome sauces. Unfortunately, if they told you the recipe, they would have to kill you. This will be an interesting thread. I love BBQ(hell, who doesn't?)

OK Ramcharger...here's the deal. Allie said I can't post the recipe, but if ya give me an email, I'll send it to you.

Screw it! I want that recipe. Here you go: 360quadzilla@comcast.net

Tell your wife thanks! If anybody asks, I'll just say I got from Entropy's wife. LOL! That ought to shut them up. Your avatar would make a great BBQ sauce label if you all wanted to go that route.

MtNemo, my buddy's just like the guys you mention. He could tell me but he'd have to kill me. LOL!

There is a restarant in Washington state called Longhorn BBQ that also sells their sauce in stores. This stuff, since they make it for their own use would be like the stuff we would make. It is great right out of the jug and FABO members from Washington will confirm this. What I do with the stuff to change it some is I will take a jug of this stuff pour it in a pot, note the level of the sauce in the pot then add a can of beer and simmer it until it reduces back down to the original level of the sauce. It's all good from here.

OK, you guys have no idea what this is gonna cost me...probably some more diamond$

I'm going to be expecting some reviews. Just try it her way once, let me know what you think, then you can doctor it up however you like.

enjoy!

I will wait for the review and then see if I can get the recipe .
It is cold and windy for my grill to get fired up.
