One is 28, the other is 17....

After they assembled the 360 and the 408, using a dab of rtv in the appropriate corners here and there, I found what WAS a nicely flattened 2/3 of a tube......

They both said their toothpaste tubes look just as bad,..................

But geee dad, - if a little dab is good, a whooole bunch must be better huh ?

Apprentices too ! !

To seal the corners of the oil pan and intake?

Yes, just a dab where gaskets meet .

If all gasket surfaces are properly clean, the tin surfaces have the tightening "volcanos" at the fastener holes tapped out, - then let the gaskets do their job.

The (3M) weatherstrip adhesive I use is ONLY to hold the gasket in place during assembly .
Like when replacing a pan gasket from under the vehicle, sure as **** that side gaskets gonna fall on your face, and/or shift while wiggling the pan around.
Water pump gaskets seem to shift, not when glued.
Struggling with a cast iron intake over the fender can shift an intake
side-gaskets, not when glued.

Cheers
