My towel is not thrown in, but it's not looking good. Quick was amazing last night, robbed us a few times!

Good to hear about your towel. And yes Quick was amazing. Lets hope Lundqvist is amazing tomorrow. And the Rangers keep their feet and hands away from deflections! It's strange how sports work their way into our personalities. It's a love/hate relationship. But hard to detach ourselves from it. Just try being a Kings fan the last three series to get where the team is today. And I still know that it could go south.

Unfortunately my team is the Leafs, but I love hockey and would have loved to see it go 6 or7 games. But the refs took the life out of the Rangers in game 2.

Looked like Dwight King was trying to get to the front AROUND the crease and the Ranger D crosschecked/interfered with his path. Look at the angle of his lead skate right before he was re-routed. Headed almost straight out towards center ice, not across the crease. The D had much more to do with King being in the crease than King himself. Self inflicted wound.

I'd bet money that Henrik makes the save even if the ranger D lets King get out front.

The Rangers have had plenty of opportunity to put this series on their side. That pussy cross check call on the Kings last night... Please.

The rangers sucked the life out of themselves by sucking on the PP and not burying Grade A scoring chances (zuc/Brassard last night).

Come on Crackedback the Dman was on top of the crease and the goalie was in the blue ice , Ke entered the blue ice under his own power from behind the net and forced his way between the D man and the goalie , thats a penalty , jumping into the air and landing on the goalie was just piling on after the fact the rule states " interferes with goalies movement " he wasn't pushed in he went in on his own and engaged and in doing so he blocked the goalie from reaching out to make an easy glove save on a pretty soft shot . Add the two handed slap in the face with the stick that even the hometown fans got quiet expecting a call and the hip check pick and the reaching out and grabbing and the stuffing the stick under the players skate on a breakaway in overtime etc.... as I said before the officiating in that game was an embarrassment to the league and I want the Kings to win I feel bad for the Ranger fans .

PS Of course I'll feel better when the season starts an my Leafs start pounding em eh LOL !

I want the Kings to win, but the refs flat out sucked in game 2. Like Cannucky said the stick in the face to the Rangers that was a non call...another flat out brutal miss. Embelishiment...that happens on both teams....
Rangers PP has flat out sucked and Vigneault needs to make changes.

I can see where the official felt the D had a big part in the offensive player being in the crease. He also told Lundquist that the d was the reason the King was in there.

That interference rule is full of loopholes. Unless they change where it flat says any disruption of the goalie is interference and the D can not be touching the O player in any manner to initiate contact, you're going to have this happen. Start putting skirts on them! :)

I can see how this went either way.

Some people say the refs suck. Others say the refs 'let them play'.
Hockey players don't blame the refs. Doughty's penalty was what I would call a good penalty. The cross check penalty to the Kings was a make up call for the Dwight King missed(perceived depending who you talk too) call the game before.
The Rangers can do two things tomorrow. Ramp up the slashes and checks from behind and lose OR try to prevent the Kings shots from the blue line. Which they can do. They will take chances but that will open up the onside rush the Kings did last night. Quick just stoned them. I say try it again.
And I don't believe for one second the Rangers are deflated.
Look for Gaborik and Zuccarello(I love his style)to have a good game tomorrow.

that was a easy goalie interference call in the middle of the regular season. not to mention in the cup final.

to top it off, the GM's are meeting this week on changes for next year, one of the main changes GM's want is goalies to be able to do there job in the blue paint.

Like Brett Hulls cup winning goal with his skate clearly in the crease(no goal thru the reg season)

i heard somewere Brett got t shirts made up of him scoring the goal ( with his foot in the paint) and he wears them to piss off Sabers fans.

another thing Lindy Ruff coached Buffalo when that happened
Now is coaching the Stars.

Kinda wonder if we'll see the real Rangers tonight?
I still think blocking shots is a low percentage play unless there is no other option like the goalie is out of position and the other team has a wide open net to shoot at.
When i played goal, it used to drive me nuts.
90% of the time it ended up as a goal from the pinball effect or a good scoring opportunity for the other team.
That really bit the Rangers in the *** last game, as well as they didn't cover the point very well, but they are getting better.
I think the Rangers will give them a good run for their money tonight and they better, it's do or die.

if you played the game beyond peewee it's hard not to be because your brain sees the game at the speed it's played , if you spent your whole life watching on TV then you aren't programmed to whats really going on. I still wan't LA to win for all the reasons I stated earlier , just hard to watch them decide the game .

I played up till Bantam, I was a bit of an ankle burner...I always wanted to play goal and did a couple times, but we had a good goalie with his own complete set of full gear.
Here is an old school pic of Dad when he was president of Stayner Minor Hockey...spot the celebs(besides Dad) LOL

Crazy game.

Two pucks right on the goal line. Could have been a sweep with a little push or Carter getting his stick flat.

On to LA for Game 5.

LOL, yeah funny Dad never smoked cigarettes, but he smoked a pipe when I was younger...Borkum Riff tobacco...WTH is that?? Loved the smell of it though. Then he went on to Old Ports, then graduated to the BIG stogies LOL

I remember watching one of our Junior A games once and someone in the stands had a whistle and "used" it when someone had a breakaway...just about a riot in the stands! LOL

Did ya spot the celebs??

Minor midget in Toronto for me , Big roid raged power guys were all that got letters of intent in my day {mid seventies} , I was a 6' 150lbs beanstalk at 15 LOL ! Played 3am Saturday nights into my 20s , beer and both handed smokes in the dressing room eh . I keep toying with the idea of playing senior mens here in Victoria but all the games are at 11:00 pm or later in the middle of the week , getting home at like 1 am still jazzed doesn't go well at work the next day .

Aren't we all though really?

True. We all do it.

Last night the calls went the Rangers way. I was glad to see the Rangers win one. Goaltending was the deciding factor in that one. Lundqvist and a bit of puck luck got them the win.

I'm playing in a firefighters benefit tournament this weekend. The biggest beneficiary will likely be the breweries. :D

looked to me like NY needs to make a better offer to the refs , that was embarrassing to the league last night . Remember I want LA to win in 7 but not like that .

Reminds me of the bad reffing in Montreal...
