I have to say, it's amazing to see so much information being relayed at a sensible and informative level here, what is it you guys have that the other forums don't? I've read more informative detail about the humble 273 here in weeks then I have in years elseware. and yet the 340 and big block die hards apear to be on the same level as everyone else...

In Aus. based forums, theres "slants are better then rattlies (ausie hemi 6)", "big blocks are better then smallblocks" Hemi'6s are **** cause their oil pumps fall off and big blocks are **** cause they're as big as a house.
(I'm over the inter Mopar bickering)

what went right here?

why does everyone seem to just get along within their passion?

cheers,
Knighty

The word "patriot" is traditionally used in reference to a loyalty and respect for one's 'country'......However, from the root and lineage of the term we understand it to be something that is respected and loved, being received from the "Fathers"............

I have respect for the Father's of the hobby, and respect for the enthusiasts..........just as if it were a love and respect for country, which I also have.

Maybe that's what FABO has..........a little more "Patriotism". 8)

I'd have to say about 99.9% of the people here are just here simply to help and mingle with others in the hobby. Theres plenty of MODS here that are interested in keeping it that way as well.

Of the .1% left over, it's divided into spammers which are quickly handled and silly spats that get stopped before it gets to wild. If theres a constant person posting BS and bothering others, they'll get banned. We don't want to be bothered and insulted by others. Arguments can be constructive.

(Speaking of which, if you see a spammer posting anything for sale, report it. We'll take care of it.)

We can all bicker back and forth on what engine is great and why this is better etc......... But we all know what is really important here. So the BS gets left behind and a quality board arises.

We have a lot of people here that are on the "Been there done that." level. A few Pro Chrysler dealer mechanics, a few drag racers, street enthuis. and of course, the old timers that still remember a few things. (Quick, pick there brain before they forget.......Oh, I'm gonna get it now!)

"My mopar is my mistress". In that is the passion you speak of. If I have the right and privledge of feeling mine is the greatest thing ever, the others do too. I have no right to bad mouth or down grade their "mistress".
I have no idea how much bickering goes on in Aussie forums but I can assume it's just the alcohol talking (or typing as it were). This is based on statistics concerning alcohol consumption world wide.
If some mates here do get beered up and wanna bad mouth something , Ford and Chevy are acceptable targets LOL

I think a big part is what PastorTom mentioned, we're all here for the love of the hobby. MoParts is notourious for the B&E body's rule, A bodies suck mentality. Screw them. We're all attending the same church, just different sermons.

Besides, the Jerks are dealt with quickly and swiftly. Matter of fact, one loud-mouth had the privlidge of receiving a PM from me last night asking him to knock it off.... But for the most part, we're all on the same page. And thank you for the compliments on our site! 8)

aside from the fact that I enjoy Moparts and other forums (Pro Touring and such), fastback340 hit the nail on the head. We are all about A-bodies here, which is nice. I think the important thing too is that all of the information we get is based generally on the model we're asking about, and it makes us happy to know that we can take that information right outside to the car and everything will be just like it was stated in the post. That seems to calm the nerves of the occupants here in general.

Simple, RESPECT !

Everyone pretty much respects everyone else opinion here, whether or not they agree with it.

What went right here.
I am just a simple man that lives on a hill
And I enjoy the humble and fun going folks that are here,
Most of the members know that I and others
some times need help or just a kind word.:angel9:
Our moderators and the top of the line tec's that we have here help younger and older folks that are needing reassurance on there projects.

loyalty and respect, and as pastortom1 said patriot to our fathers.:salute:

This is the most humble and giving site I have ever known in my life.
My life is better knowing all the great people here.=D>

I would fall in the category that rumblefish360 brought up
forgetful :toothy10:#-o

Thank you for your kind word knighty:cheers: this bunch of good folks
are the best of the best and deserve your complement

I don't post much, but I've been coming here for about a year and a half, and I agree that respect for others opinions is powerful here.
There is also alot of humor too. :jocolor:Its disarming and infectious, it draws more of the same.
You just can't help but enjoy yourself.
SEE MEMIKE ABOVE FOR EXAMPLE!!:thumblef:

I believe this board is bound by the fact that all members "Own or intend to Own" an A-body Mopar.

Each of us have a knowledge base sitting in the garage/shop/carport/yard, and like said ^above....when we come here to ask questions, the answer usually applies to the car sitting outside and the information is helpful/productive here.

I love ALL mopars, and don't really have a serious Stigma against Non-Mopars'.

My opinions are usually mutually respected and I mutually respect other members tastes and flavors.

The thing I like most about FABO, also like previously stated is we are all equal regardless if we build /6's, 318's, 360's or 408/416 strokers. Big Blocks are great and 2nd gen Hemi's are always respected adequately, but 400+c.i. is not the Admission Ticket to the A-body Hobby.

:brave:

I have to agree this is a very friendly site. Some other car sites that I need for tech help will tear you apart just for fun when all you want is a simple answer.

There is a vast wealth of knowledge here, and you don't feel afraid to ask a question. I've never understood making fun of someone who's asking a legitimate question, I myself feel good about helping people out when I can. Lots and lots of good people here.

you guys should all be stoaked to be a part of it,

it's a breath of fresh air

I don't agree with that you don't know what your talking about and are totally wrong!!!

JUST KIDDING!

You need to have a good sense of humor and be able to take a joke because sometimes we like to bust each others chops especially the members that have been here for a while and know each well.:bootysha:

Welcome Knighty!

It's like having a good friend that you can get in a argument with and then still talk to like it never happened. LOL!

Oh.. and keep your eye on that memike fellow!

There is no telling where I may turn up next.
Heck I may be at your door step tonight to have you sign Victoria.:-D

This wonderful site is more like a great big family than a bunch of words on a screen. What does FABO have that the others lack? Mutual respect, comraderie, intelligence, friendliness, willingness to welcome newcomers with open arms, equal opportunity to teach and be taught, and to love and constantly improve our A Bodies.

Knighty, you've figured it out mate. No need to look anywhere else. :-D
