Take mullinax95 advice. . My own brothers ex even went so far as to get a friend of hers who was a doctor to declare that she was disabled and she showed up in divorce court with a neck brace and a cane. This all came about after he refused to meet her without witnesses. My brother's lawyer was unaware of this and when he saw her limping in the courtroom he told my brother to don't fight it any further you will get screwed even worse. As it turned out he has to keep making the 1500 a month payment on the house she got in the settlement, he has to pay off 100k in credit cards that they ran up together, and he has to keep up a 300k term life insurance policy in the event he dies before he pays off her house.
Don't know how the divorce laws work where you are but here in FL you have the upper if she files first. I would also suggest liquidating everything into cash and stashing it somewhere. Even though the records will show that you cashed out after she walked out, you can always say that you spent it on something that they can't trace. They may attach alimony anyway but "you can't get blood out of a turnip" can you. You might even consider "losing" you job or income at least before the settlement phase
.I'm not telling this because I am devious but a survivalist who has no intention of letting ANYONE walk off with what I worked years to build. After all the dust has settled then you can help her if you want to....
it will be your choice not hers or the court's........................................................
