More of my home made furniture.

Did you join the boards together and screw it on as an assembly? If so, how'd you join them? Or did you just screw them in one by one like a deck from underneath?

The top is 4 pieces joined together with a biscuit joiner and biscuits then glued and ran thru a planer . Bottom boards are 4 individual boards

that ad is actually shot in my house. lol. when me and the ex broke up she was nice enough to file a no contact order against me and had me police escorted out of the house i legally live in and pay all the bills for. well once i was outta the way she took everything she wanted or thought i would miss. so now i am building all new stuff in the style that i like. if the next one tries to take the furniture she can have it if she can lift it. lol

Don't get remarried again. :banghead:

Go to a bar and find a gorgeous woman that you can't stand. Have sex with her a few times, then give her your house. (It will end up that way anyhow, you will save on the wedding cost, and divorce fees, and may be able to keep some of your furniture and cars).... :goodman:

Did you hear that they found a food that cancels a woman's sex drive? It's called wedding cake.... :toothy1:

ok guys got started on my new tv stand/media cabinet. gonna be same style. steel frame powder coated frame but with wood inlays on sides and top. will have 2 framed glass doors on front and using door handles of a 50's nash for the front doors. here is what i got so far,

Look Dude stop it I am getting way too jealous of all the beautiful stuff you have the ability to make. I only wish I knew how..

Just gotta jump in and learn. When I was a kid my dad bought an old car at a towing auction . Had no keys and when we got into the trunk we found a welder. I played with it and learned to weld via trial and error. I love building **** and it's all about just trying! It may not be pretty in the beginning but you will learn. If I can do it anyone can

here is last nights progress. some boring pics of how i attached everything while hiding the hardware. i will have another layer of the finished wood on the inside as well.

My thoughts exactly. I've kept passing over this thread numerous times because the first time I saw it, I was jealous as hell! Sweet car with great fabrication work on it. And now great looking home made furniture. Where does the jealousy end? Great work btw YoungGun! Even though I am quite envious.

your only envious because you dont have to move this heavy som-of-a-*****. lol. trust me man, you guys could do this stuff and prob better then me. im just screwing around and building stuff i think is cool. i cant drive my car because the weather is **** so i try and keep myself occupied. i do thank you all for the kind words though.

little side project: the ex even took the damn curtains lol so i made me some curtain rod hangers outta some old horse shoes and some fence finials i had laying around. here they are.

I see the start of a real man cave!

YOU GOT THAT F#*KING RIGHT! No more of that prissy female bullshit. I may even get crazy and make the thing a kegerator. put a tap right thru the top. get some chain male curtains and a mid evil battle axe up on the wall and about 6 dear heads mounted up on the wall. gotta find me a chick that drives a jacked up pick up and chews tobacco. thats the kinda woman i need. lol

ok got the sides all done.

then i got the top torn back down and welded on the corner gusset plates. the top is ready for powder coat now.

What size angle iron did you use on the end table? What kind of wood are you using?? Those table look awesome!

end table was built with 1 1/2" and 1". the legs and top were done with 1 1/2 and the cross part was done with 1x1/8 flat bar.

the wood on the end table is maple, walnut, mahogony and cherry. i had it in a pile here at work. the tv stand im actually using laminate flooring. it would be outta my price range to build it with real wood.

very nice. like really. good stuff. I come from a family of furniture builders. My oldest sister recently made an office chair out of a keg. 8). I'm about to make a lamp out of a camshaft and old timing gear.

That's a good idea using flooring. Did you glue it to a piece of plywood for strength? Were you able to buy remnants of an open box, or did they make you buy a whole box? Saves time not having to finish the wood too.

Outstanding work young gun!! That table and lamp combo rocks, and the entertainment center is gonna rock also!! I love that style, and your skills are off the charts!! Beautiful!! Geof

i went to a local whole sale flooring shop. the guy working there was pretty cool. i told him in just needed a bit. he showed me an area of the store that had single boxes and limited qty. he told me that i could have a full box of anyone of em for a 6pk of corona. so i went to gas station and got me a 6pk and we made a deal on a box. he actually gave me the 2 boxes that he had in that color. i didnt glue it. its backed with 3/4' plywood and bolted in with 1/4' hardware. it aint going nowhere. that and if decide i wanna change it i just gotta unbolt it and swap it out.
