Hood, what I'm planing for hood scoops, and stripping. The tape is to mark out where the stripe will be going to see how it looks.

Stripping the paint of the fenders. Lots of surface rust under the paint. Drivers side fender is a factory replacement one. Separated the fender skin and head light support are to eventually bang out the dent(s).

Using rust remover to get rid of all the surface rust. Instructions say to allow 10-15 minutes to do its magic....:bs:....It took multiple coats with a soaking time of at-least 2-3 hours for it to do anything. But it worked.

Does anyone have a passenger side full quarter for a '67-'69 Valiant? The car was side swiped, the door was junk (got a replacement at Carlisle), fender savable, but the quarter is toast. This has to be the hardest part to find for a Mopar:angry7: The body line is just completely gone and yes it was torn TORN! about 6" right be-hide the door and filled with dumb-dumb glue. Surprisingly there is very little rust and the lip is still good. If I were to fix it, it would take a gallon or more of bondo.:angry7:

Also does anyone have a full floor pan? One from a '67-'69 Valiant/Cuda or a Duster/Demon/Dart Sport will work. Curse that rubber mat:disgust:
And yes thats a hole ON TOP of the trans tunnel. You can see it through the steering wheel.

Got my 413:cheers: at the Carlisle everything swap meet. This was about 1 of 5 or 6 mopar things I saw at that show:angry7: To much chevy & ford stuff. So heres how it went: I'm walking down the isle at about 11:00. Look over to the next isle and I see this on a trailer. I thought it was a 440 so I ran over cause its like impossible to find anything Mopar related. So low and behold I get there and it turns out its a 413 out of a '65 Imperial. It still had the auto trans behind it. He wanted $600 and he knew I wanted it bad. (This guy is actually a ford guy that happened to have a job that takes down barns and this Imperial was in one of them. He bought it and sold the body but keep the engine/trans). So anyway my father and I walk around some more till its getting close to the end of the day. I was real curious if he still had it so I went back. Low and behold he did & he wanted to get rid of it real bad because he need the room on his trailer for a car he bought. So he offers it for $400. I was joking around and offered him $200 with out the trans (because it was one of those cable shift with the flanged end, not the slip yoke and I don't need the hassel with that & besides I'm going 4 speed:burnout:) and he took it:cheers: It took some time to convince my father to buy it (he paid $100 & I paid $100) but I successfully perswed him. So we go get the car and when we came back he had it separated already. $15 as tip to one of the employees and we got it load in the van. He even threw in tie down straps so we could make the 4 hour trip home. Any ways we leave and I'm driving8) and 4 hours latter we make it back:cheers: So theres the story of how I got my 413.

And yes thats a vintage PLYMOUTH RD sign that I got for 9 bucks8)

StrokerScamp told me the perfect set of manifolds for a big block A-body would be C-body driver side and B-body passenger side.

Unsure if that will work though on a 413, it should though, im 80% sure. If they bolt onto the engine, they will fit, just unsure the bolt on part. Maybe someone will chime in?

A center dump manifold on the drivers side will most likely interfere with the steering box.
Nice build by the way!

Auto Metal Direct makes full floor pans for the a-body mopars.

You might want to PM user crackedback he might be able to locate a quarter panel for you out in california.

If you can swing the coin for some Schumaker tri-y headers that would be the hot ticket. They also make conversion motor mounts:

Thanks everybody:happy10: I know AMD has full floor pans but I'm hoping to find ones for cheaper as money is real tight now. I also would like a set of those headers but they are a bit pricy.... maybe be able to find some used ones.... Thats a good idea to ask crackedback to see if he can locate a quarter. I also may have a line one a Mopar Performance big block k-frame if I get it cheap enough.

Great job and nice car! I saw a set of used 5215 Hooker FW headers in the last couple days, but don't remember where. Might have been Moparts, but they were very nice and they were not cheap.

Disassembled the engine...first car engine I ever worked on/rebuild. Found four bent push rods. My guess is stuck valves and someone tried to crank it over and they bent. Lots of gunk in the valley area. The heads are 516 ones. What was the problem with these heads, not large enough valves? And no the center dump exhaust manifold is not from a truck/motorhome.

The cylinders have almost no ridge if not none at the tops of the cylinder. I was able to pull the pistons out the top thats how little wear there was.
P.S. can some one decode the numbers on the side of the block for me, thanks.
