New car rant

Civic,
Just bought a cream puff 83 with 54,000 miles on it off my little old neighbor lady.
Should have left it sitting in her garage.
The inspection sticker was 6 years dead, parts are a sob to get, you have to order everything, but being garage kept all it’s life it is rust free.

I bought it to give to one of my kids, as soon as I get all the issues fixed, I think I am going to sell it.
Yeah sell it. I have known people buying into civic models prior to 1988 and would have warned you. 1988-91 are very similar (except 91 has seat belts starting from the doors) and 92-96 are similar-but tiny space to work. 88-91 has plenty of space but SOME parts are becoming very difficult.

A little for the ford boys here :
My wifes 2017 ford escort , that has every option available , including turbo, ''has water in the oil'', and the dealer is talking about replacing the entire engine , only 50,000 on the clock , and is under a manteinance agreement w/ them, never been touched by anyone but ford..
They told her it could happen to anything, which is B.S. , depends on engine design / no. of headbolts aound the cyl ./etc.
I have never blown a headgasket on any mopar , even a hemi w/ 13 1/2 comp. and .020 steel shim headgaskets. I did blow a headgasket on a 406 sbc once tho.

yeah , ford has a better idea !!

Escape maybe...?
Ford hasn’t made the Escort since around 2001 or so

CORECTO MUNDO !
Hard to get right, I`ve had a few fords and there has been something wrong or screwy w/ every one of them ! No more !

I have only bought 2 new cars my whole life. 1996 ACR Neon Red Coupe DOHC 5 speed. Love that car! I still have it with 240,000 miles on it and it starts and drives like new, worth every penny. Then a 2009 Challenger R/T 6 speed. Currently has 4,000 miles on it. Worth every penny. My wife gets a new car whenever she wants. Her latest is a 2018 Charger R/T 8 speed paddle shifter that I had to swap the exhaust for Police exhaust, because the R/T interactive exhaust was too loud. She is happy again. Worth every penny.

If I could have only one car it would be the 1966 Formula S, 4 speed, 273 Commando, Barracuda.
