The "Less Slow is the Goal" was a success. The Duster, Van, and Truck all went quicker this year with little change. Fun for sure. But now.... we'll have a long winter here to muster up a thought... lol
We will now just enjoy taking a Van or Short bed truck to a Hamburger/Fries or food of some sort till they salt the roads.... :D

Have a few things to clean up on the Duster, and when do we start on the Short Bed Truck... :realcrazy:
How about you? How did 2025 go and plans for the winter?? (us in the snow belt that is... )

I was thinking about that this afternoon. As far as I know all the local cruises and shows are done for the year but there's no reason why I can't get both cars out and enjoy them a bit before the first snowfall. May be cruise around and visit some of the guys that are home working on their rides during the day. That could keep me busy for a while.

Had lots to do, not much spare time to do it, and didn't get it all done... (do we ever?)
Wanted to finish up the wagon and get some road miles on it... Did get it driveable but not many miles yet.
Swinger needed a heart transplant after the teener gave up the ghost- got a spare E58 cop 360 freshened up and stuffed in, I'm driving it but still finessing the TQ on it.
Had to roll the Dak into the shop, lost the brakes when a rear line rusted out- it's getting all new lines, both brakes and fuel. About halfway done with that.
About the only vehicle that didn't give me issues this year was my old faithful D200. That dang thing can run on paint thinner with half the spark plugs disconnected and never miss a beat...
On top of that, had to find the MIL a new place to live, and move her when the care facility she's in closed up...
Not a lot of time for cruising or travelling this summer.
Hopefully this winter will be uneventful and give me time to do a MUCH needed shop clean-up so I can actually move around in there again!

Gotta love the "D" series, they are always there when you need them! Yes, I too was crunched for time.... i always am

Well I didn't do much with my 63 Belvedere beater with a LA 318. Picked up a 72 Dart that I'm scratching my head which direction I want to go with it.
Put the 63 up for sale on B bodies a few weeks ago. If sold that will bank roll the Dart project. We will see...
 
Well i also had a great year! Lots of firsts! Now I have to figure out how to divide up the small winter upgrade budget. Luckily I can make use of lots of parts I have currently laying around!

2025 went great my D100 is about as finished as it’s gonna get, I’m having some wheels narrowed for new front tires, and adding an NOS controller but that’s easy stuff. Now I’m just going to enjoy it. Over the next few months I’m going to focus on the 70 dart and get the twin turbo W2 magnum motor and T56 in it, mini tub it, and build a cage. Hopefully be ready for some drag and drive stuff next year.

That '70 Dart will be a terror with a W2 twin turbo Mag in it.... Better not eat any hot sauce before racing it... LOL

lol. Every meal. Had hot sauce on my lunch today. Just not THAT hot sauce. I hope the car will go in the 9s pretty easily and if I can remember how to shift a 3 pedal car maybe one day tickle the 8s with a stock block magnum.
 
2025 so far, we put quite a few miles on Old Yeller. Did well, motor stayed cool even in the mid 90s in town. It proved very fun to drive, even for my wife.

For the rest of this year, I need to put on heater hoses, would really like a fuel sender for the fuel cell that will work with the stock gage. A speedometer cable and the right gear for it to match the 4.56s is on the wish list.

For 2026, really no major changes planned. #1 goal= some strip time. So that means long wheel studs, DS safety loop, Some type of slicks or drag radials. If it doesnt' run like I want, again no big changes, just work with what I have. I think Yeller has low 7s eighth mile times in it.

Bring it up here and I'll supply the slicks, buy ya a meal at the Dragstrip Cafe, and give you your choice of seat at the table in the van to eat it. :)+ Send ya home with some goodies, perhaps for a roller 360 LOL

We have a few Trunk or Treat shows this weekend but after that I'm done for the season.

In 2025 we installed sub-frame connectors and torque boxes and just drove the car to break in the dual disc clutch. This winter we will be installing the W2 414 that Brian Haflinger built for us. Should be a fun "off season". I'm getting the engine taped for paint this weekend.

Watching yesterdays video now.. looks like you hit 12s which is awesome :) Over winter.. i would lower it.. not slammed but like 2" i think those trucks look great tucked a little bit.
 
Btw, any way to put that on a diet? fiberglass hood? Or anything else that wouldn't be too intrusive?

Love the story bout the camaro guy..

tailgate is 40ish pounds?...

i went slower this year
dunno why


so this off season I started simple and basic
rebuilt distributor and checked vacuum advance actually held vacuum... It did
replaced the 55 year old VDO oil pressure sender with a 5 year old Indian made copy (works)
purchased cheap chinese steam cleaner and steam cleaned the bejesus out of the engine bay because my 55 year old VDO oil sender was spraying oil, prior to replacement
teaching my son to drive. this will probably curtail garage time

at some point i will do a bit more on my T5 swap, i a do a month or so of weekends each year before getting fed up with it, fail to proceed to completion, and go through the show and race season with my faithful 4 speed. Again
Need to make a new adapter for box to bell current is too fat. and for that i need some ground flat gauge plate in 1/4 inch...

all good fun

Thanks! I actually like the factory ride height of trucks. 1" lower in the back would be fine so it sits level. But when they are dropped, to me it becomes a Ranchero or El Camino lol. And yes, there is always more weight to shed, but keeping the look is important to least me anyways
 
Out my way, summer came.....summer went.....summer ended. All I got done was working on a huge shop expansion. Thanks be, it is only a whisker from being done and then I can get moved in and organized. Next up is getting the 42RH and new pumpkin into the wagon. It will be so sweet to be able to move around and actually work on a car.
