Gasoline might disolve it.....View attachment 1715180939 Apparently plastic wheel liners can rust Looking for help on best way to remove undercoating without damaging the wheel liners ?Help and suggestions appreciated.
Thats because it was the most gentle on the ducks, not because it worked.....do you have access to a large freezer? IF you can drop these in a freezer, the tar is supposed to get very hard and chip off, but dont flex the liners too much or they may crack too. WD40 would work too to soften the tar as well as a heat gun (careful on warping the plastic) or even motor oil. They use dish washing detergent to clean the tar off of baby ducks after an oil spill??? But....undercoating has other things in it besides tar??
I have s set that need to be cleaned. They have been under coated I used oven cleaner to get most of it off and it doesn’t seem to hurt the plastic
Probably so but since the average life span of a duck is 10 years...a 20 year old duck would be dead either way.I'm sure if the tar and oil were allowed to set on the ducks for 20 years Dawn detergent would have 0 effect
Be very careful with the heat gun, plastic will get soft and warp.No access to a large freezer ! I do have WD-40 and a heat gun
They are also safe to eat after as it has no side effect. lol"Thats because it was the most gentle on the ducks, not because it worked".....this statement doesn't make sense, if it didn't work they wouldn't use it. It is gentle on the ducks but they use it because it's gentle AND it removes the tar. I figured it would be gentle on the plastic liners as on the baby ducks.
Now that was FUNNY!!!!They are also safe to eat after as it has no side effect. lol
allow me to rephrase that for the lawyers...."Thats because it was the most gentle on the ducks, not because it worked the best"."Thats because it was the most gentle on the ducks, not because it worked".....this statement doesn't make sense, if it didn't work they wouldn't use it. It is gentle on the ducks but they use it because it's gentle AND it removes the tar. I figured it would be gentle on the plastic liners as on the baby ducks.
