Skate And Destroy
No argument here.A dedicated EFI forum would only benefit the site. There is no downside.

I agree.A forum was added for 3d printing. This is arguably a more relevant topic. It's kind of a no brainer...
I agree.
Let’s be honest - 3D printing has very little if anything to do with performance and/or drivability. It’s a safe bet to say that putting your foot to the floor and having the engine and car do what it’s supposed to do is far more important and satisfying to car guys than making plastic trinkets.
Not sure what went into the decision to create that particular forum. It’s kind of a niche thing that’s closer to art than cars. It also requires specialized equipment that most people don’t own. I’ve been involved with it and learned that I prefer turning wrenches over arts and crafts.

Interesting comment since I see you posted in the 3d thread and had parts made for your car.I agree.

Sorry, but imo, 3D printing is WAY more than arts and crafts.....and to say that is pretty crass....imo.I agree.

Agree, my son made this dash insert for my 64 Valiant it was his first attempt at it.Sorry, but imo, 3D printing is WAY more than arts and crafts.....and to say that is pretty crass....imo.
Alright that did not go over well. I apologize if what I said upset some people. 3D printing and retrofit EFI probably do share some similarities. I can easily see Megasquirt DIY types in particular getting involved with 3D stuff.
In my mind converting to EFI is more accessible to most enthusiasts though because it’s a bolt-on deal and it provides visceral results that you feel in your right foot. Creating a static object does not feel like the same thing - I’ve done both. Each exercise can be rewarding accomplishments but at least for me, performance is more fun. For the most part one can not drag race 3D printed parts.
As far as the 3D forum itself goes, it’s been open since July and there are only a handful of original posts in it. To me that sort of proves the level of interest in that subject or at least the lack thereof. My gut says an EFI forum will eclipse that easily.
And now we return to our regularly scheduled programming.
That's cool! I need me some pigs for my new train layout I'm fixin to start on. I was able to find some bulk cows, but nobody had pigs. I can find like 5 for 15 bucks, but I need about 30 so screw that. My local public library is gonna 3d print me some pigs on the cheap. The girl even found a file they already had in their computer. lolAgree, my son made this dash insert for my 64 Valiant it was his first attempt at it.
. I have a better pick with the left and right small turn arrows and high beam indicator have to dig it up. I went this way after the bulkhead issue and went volt Guage over amps rewired the car bumber to bumber.
GPS sped and mopar hood tack.

I'm not upset either lol.....that said, EFI has been around much longer than 3D printing has been but it seems to be catching on fairly quickly and becoming more affordable to the masses. Did a bit of reading about it when it spilled over into the automotive world. EFI....I'm not against it but I've always been able to get an old school car running on the side of the road with minimal parts and have read a LOT of posts over the years of the troubles with aftermarket EFI. Also read some posts about it shutting down while on the road and taking hours to find and fix the issue. Also have read where the aftermarket has made changes and for the better....Alright that did not go over well. I apologize if what I said upset some people. 3D printing and retrofit EFI probably do share some similarities. I can easily see Megasquirt DIY types in particular getting involved with 3D stuff.

Would 'bots' be the same as crawlers?Lots of times when people search out things on Google, it will lead them here to our FABO site if we have been posting about their subjects of interest.
Search Engines > Google have "Crawlers" that go through the web and search out and categorize posted topics and make them available so people can find them... based on their popularity.
