Is this the same carcraft dart we are talking about here?
no, that was the 69 give away car that had a 4spd
Not necessarily. You would need to examine in person to be sure. No mention or pics of numbers that I saw in the original post ???So the "dart games" dart is a rebody?
100%Not necessarily. You would need to examine in person to be sure. No mention or pics of numbers that I saw in the original post ???
It's plainly stated with the VIN.show me on the copy where it says "original 340 car".
hint: it doesn't
again, look at his ad copy. It's plainly stated with the VIN.
LM23P9B - 1969 Dart Swinger 340
It also states matching numbers engine.
I was referring to the original "for sale" post. I didn't see any reference there. I admit I didn't read or view the carcraft article. Perhaps it is mentioned there ?It's plainly stated with the VIN.

Ask the person who started the thread.again, look at his ad copy.
i don't know why this is even a discussion.
not worth the time or the dime.Ask the person who started the thread.
This type of perspective is EXACTLY what the fraud artist hope the buyer has when they rebody cars. @Oldmanmopar has a good point here. I have seen rebody cars on this site for sale in the past. There was a triple green 70 340 swinger on here, the seller even mentioned in a earlier thread, he simply swapped the VIN tag onto a better /6 body. Then sold it as a "matching numbers" car. 100% fraud, and a felonyNo one knows how every example of each model was built except the people that were building it on the line the day it was built. Get over it already. If you say every car you saw was that way and there were 30, 300 or 3,000 built at different plants and you weren't there do you really know how they came off the line? NO. You can surmise you do. BUT YOU DO NOT. People do often inaccurately post parts and may misrepresent cars, but like Barney said sometimes the people questioning it are wrong. And you can't fully rely on fender tags because they are often wrong as well. Maybe the exhaust hanger was cut off 40 years ago in a garage in Alaska. If you weren't there you don't know. Ther should be some system of accountability for ads thats for sure. What it is is a tough one to iron out.

I agree 100%. I worked on the assembly line for years and seen parts that were taken out of production because they didn't conform to quality control only to have them reinstated because the line would go down. Pissed us off cause we anticipated going home early. Never say never.I do know this from 1st hand experience .
I have worked in a stamping house for most of my life,,,,making automotive parts .
Most of the time we follow the book .
But there have been hundreds of times we have not .
It’s just the way it is to keep the product moving and the doors open there .
I have personally been involved with the manufacture of over 200 million parts,,,yes,,,millions .
I couldn’t tell you how many were stamped with the wrong I.D. Number .
Yes,,,call the OEM,,,,tell them the issue .
They write a deviation,,,,and we ship .
Form,,Fit,,and Function .
If it passes those criteria,,,,it will sail down the highway,,,,when the going gets tough .
Sorry,,,,,not all things are as the books and brochures say .
And Mopar was as guilty as anyone when it absolutely had to be built and shipped out .
Until you have worked in automotive,,,,you have no idea !
Tommy
I’m with NC 100% there,,,,I’m only talking about discrepancies in manufacturing details in my post .
Blatant fraud is just pure cheating,,,and Illegal !!!
It cannot be condoned in any form !
