Yes, I made sure this morning but will try again.Does the engine turn over by hand? meaning get at least a 1/2" breaker bar on the crank nut.

I`d disassemble the starter on the bench to make sure it hasn`t junked itself inside.Yes, I made sure this morning but will try again.
Yes will soon by hand, did a full revolution just to be ads and it felt fine.Does the engine turn over by hand? meaning get at least a 1/2" breaker bar on the crank nut.
I think you bought a bad starter. Crazy as it sounds. Not sure where to go now.
Yes I can, I watched the flex plate do a complete revolution. That's the starter engaging the ring gear and not being able to turn the engine. But you said you can turn the engine by hand, right?
LOL Yeah that was my bad. With all the twists in this thread and having to put my cat down yesterday, I couldn't remember what all we settled on. Yeah, the starter was just spinning. That's a bad starter drive. Now it appears you have a new bad starter. Did yall bench test it?
And it's pretty easy to turn?Yes I can, I watched the flex plate do a complete revolution.
Im sorry to hear about cat, that always sucks, we had to put down one of our good old dogs not that long ago. But yes we did it spun and punched out fine.LOL Yeah that was my bad. I usually run one lead to the small wire of the starter and the other to battery hot , you are applying 12 volts to the starter solenoid then that should switch and runs the current through the starter motor however I do beleive your starter big wire is the same as battery hot so it may do the same thing anyway on battery + In other words I don tthink it makes a difference if you hook it up my way its probably going to do the sam ething click at the starterIs the positive supposed to be on the battery? I thought it was the big connector on the big post and then small in small. Posts of the starter that is.
Yeah but that's not loaded, either. If you can spin the engine over easily but the starter will not.....dammit. lolIm sorry to hear about cat, that always sucks, we had to put down one of our good old dogs not that long ago. But yes we did it spun and punched out fine.
Ya that cable does just come straight down from + post.I usually run one lead to the small of the starter and the other to battery hot you are applying 12 vo;ts to the starter solenoid then that runs the current through the starter motor however I do beleive your starter big wire is the same as battery hot so it may do the same thing anyway on battery + In other words I don tthink it makes a difference if you hook it up my way its probably goin gto do the sam ething click at the starter
yup I think its a bum starter if its clicks at the starter . basically it cant turn the resistance of the engine rotating assembly now the only other thing and this is far fetched but possible the engine isnt siezed is it?Ya that cable does just come straight down from + post.
No I can turn it over by hand and it turns smooth.yup I think its a bum starter if its clicks at the starter . basically it cant turn the resistance of the engine rotating assembly now the only other thing and this is far fetched but possible the engine isnt siezed is it?
yeah id take the starter back is it a auto zone brand or oreilleys or something? I had same issue with an auto zone on a ford i took it back and went with the next up in price unit. Duralast gold or whatever it was.No I can turn it over by hand and it turns smooth.
It’s an Ultima remanned.yeah id take the starter back is it a auto zone brand or oreilleys or something? I had same issue with an auto zone on a ford i took it back and went with the next up in price unit. Duralast gold or whatever it was.
No. There's no guarantee you'll get a good one. And they don't give a fig whether you get a good one or not. There isn’t any way to test it under load is there? Thinking of when I go to which ever O’Reillys has another starter, is there a why to really tell if I’ll get a proper functioning unit.
