What kind of mags exactly are you looking for. May be able to help. Military issue 1911 10rd?

Ran into same issue in ND figured I was only up here for a quick bit of welding Hah! Looking at switching up and getting the ND license. Should be like a driver license. If that state allows it you should be good to go regardless of originating state.

CA is good nation wide....NY as well....I think...

Having it in her purse, has a CC permit, I had to fly to Columbia MO to get her out of trouble....
"It is against the "rules" to have a firearm on campus.
I said, " tough ****. LAW trumps "rules".
It was a mess....They gave in after some well placed phone calls by me to my Senator...

You could have gotten a CC permit because of the high value goods you transported, your tools in your truck...put your safety in peril..some crazy wrench turner might of gone off on you!
