340. Thought it was a 408, but now i.m not sure...
Was a less than productive day. Waiting for snow to quit so i can plow it away..tomorrow more snow.
It runs like one! Damn quick. I miss that car already. Now my 67 Dart is a 440. Not M code...Some reason I was thinkin' it was a BB.

Sure not factory slugs in there. You get it apart, un froze?Picked up a free 383. Siezed. Started pulling it apart or trying to today. Found it’s been apart before. 030 inches over and the heads(906) have been cut to a 2.14 intake but they kept the 1.74 exhaust. Looks like they at least gasket matched the ports too. The piston part numbers come back to a 11.5- 13:1 compression ratio. Someone had a very nice little 383.

Fenderwells, cast iron, B Body headers? It runs like one! Damn quick. I miss that car already. Now my 67 Dart is a 440. Not M code...
That's a nice looking truck. If the wife keeps painting you might have to add a winch : )
I can be in Wisconsin within an hour and a half drive from here and get some fresh cheese when I do get up there...
After all, Wisconsin's license plate says, "America's Dairyland"...
Hooker headers, long tube...Fit ok, rub in a few places. That is the one thing I want to update on the engine pull.Fenderwells, cast iron, B Body headers?
Did you say winch or wench???
Argh matey...
Nope. Only managed to get the one piston and rod out. Can’t even get the cam out, number 8 cylinder, the two lifters are frozen in place solid. Along with one in cylinder 6 preventing the cam from moving out. Soaking everything in a mix of kerosene and atf type F. It’s worked before so we’ll see if it helps.Sure not factory slugs in there. You get it apart, un froze?
The pistons are the old heavy TRW L2293sSure not factory slugs in there. You get it apart, un froze?
LOL oh yeah! Wind was a humming too!
Heat is your friend..Nope. Only managed to get the one piston and rod out. Can’t even get the cam out, number 8 cylinder, the two lifters are frozen in place solid. That’ll be the next step. I’m really curious as to the cam. It’s in very nice shape it looks like so far.Heat is your friend..
It is not under a hood for a reason..That’ll be the next step. I’m really curious as to the cam. It’s in very nice shape it looks like so far.
US 101 closed again south of Santa Barbara. They have a storm water issue apparently.

And that is a lot of compression for a street car IMO.It is not under a hood for a reason..

Yeah, my guess right now would be a blown head gasket around cylinder 6/8. That’s where all the rust is.It is not under a hood for a reason..
