Stop in for a cup of coffee

-
Morning all, coffee is on and tastes good this cold and rainy day. Need to start cleaning up Barracuda for the show this weekend.

I saw the lift numbers, as you know the FSM shows those cams as .429/.444 so I was curious. Love to know what the .006 durations are or what lift the book durations are measured at in practice.

That's an aftermarket cam, not a MP cam....

The cam that was in the 340 was one that we bought from a Direct Connection outlet back in the early 80's and the guy gave us a pretty lumpy one, my brother doesn't want something that radical in the car as he wants to be able to cruise it around town...

I'm gonna save that old DC cam for another more radical build, they are not available any more...

MeM,
I would guess most on this Forum are all of the age whereas our circle of family, friends, and peers is shrinking. It is inevitable, with each passing year we attend more and more funerals. While it is saddening it does make each day a gift for those of us with the breath of life. As a result many on here chase their dreams and live life to the fullest everyday. The posts on this forum by a bunch of old overweight gray beards are both vibrant and often times hilarious. Masking our falicies with bravado and charisma.
Mopar to live
Live to Mopar!

The worst thing about living the longest, are all your friends are dead and nobody left to go to YOUR funeral.... :BangHead: :(

There's a few threads here searching for the factory 340 cam. I don't know if one was ever found to be copied.

I have two cams that I bought from a member here a long time ago that were custom ground to the factory specs... One 68 4 speed cam and one 340 automatic cam...

Another member asked me if he could copy the 4 speed cam and I sent it to Oregon Cams care of Ken Heard/Hoard(?) and he mapped them... My 4 speed cam was only off 2° on one lobe, which they can bump into the proper position for future grinds (I think the member had one made like that), and it was just .006" short on the exhaust lift, which is not that far off...

If anybody wants one of them they can contact Ken at Oregon Cams or talk to @dibbons to see if he had one made and if it was the clone of what I have or the improved one where they bumped the lobe back into the proper position....

Hoping this was the problem...

2 wires cut, both to transmission control. Some heavy handed dude cut a wire retainer off and clipped these 2 wires. Fingers crossed. I have to push harness back under truck and plug it all back in before i know for sure.
7 plus hours so far.
