Well not perfect but presentable

Wow. Tomorrow gonna be a big day for me. One ive looked forward too. Just never knew when it would come. 8 years ago I built my first long range rifle, a 6.5 grendel. Tomorrow, I get to put it against rifles worth twice or three times as much. Shooting distances of 500-1500 meters tomorrow. It’ll be the farthest I’ve ever shot with it and I get to do it with trained military snipers and marksmen. A bit nervous to see how my lowly build holds up.

Study that Ballistics chart

Lawn tractor engine washed off, ready to pull it out and fix the leaking crankcase. Batteries on charge for the manlift, then i can string up the lights. 5 feet betweenthe bulbs, will give me 50 feet of light string in the quonset. Hope it imoroves the light in there.

I’ve shot 1800 yards with a 338 and an m107. But they were all set high end rifles. So this will be a good lesson and test for me. I’ll be happy to hit the target with the Grendel at 1500. It’s Max accurate range is 1600 with a high end scope, which I don’t have. I don’t think my scope will have enough mils of adjustment to account for the drop at that distance. We shall see

at 1500m it's gonna have to have substantial magnification also

You will have a blast. Be sure and take good notes for every single shot. Do not get impatient as thermal movement with regard to the the barrel is a real thing. Translated don’t shoot 100 rounds in three minutes! Watch your primers for signs of excessive pressure. Use your scope to make adjustments or mil dot if you have them. Don’t use Kentucky windage! Listen to the guys spotting you and or coaching you. If they quit giving you feedback generally that means they tried and you did not apply what they suggested. Good shooters can be a bit harsh that way. Just won’t waste their time. Figure let him shoot however he wants to. Don’t forget to pay attention to your natural point of aim and don’t coil your body or tilt your head. Feet flat on the deck. Other than that it is as simple as ever so gently in a straight back manner not curling your finger pull the trigger!

At the price of 6.5, I sure ain’t doing that.

Nothing to it

I have enough magnification. But I only have 75 mils of adjustment up or down. At that distance, usually need close to that or more. Hopefully it’s not too windy lol
I am guessing you are likely shooting 125-129 grain boolit? Hopefully one with a good BC? If you got wind that is the Achilles heel of the 6.5
at that distance your drop is in feet not inches! Hah! With some good wind just hope the guy three positions down is a good shot cause his are going on your target!

I have 123s and 130s
