Stop in for a cup of coffee

Smart! Now's the time....

We're getting moisture in one of our finished walls in the basement (a "sloped" walkout wall, like your first picture above), and when I dug down to check for waterproofing I found....NADA. As in Nada damn thing. So now I'm scrambling, and trying to find a good contractor who can excavate it out and do the job right before the snow flies.
Yep. I’m trying to apply forward thinking to the entire project. It’s why I have placed all the water lines for the future shop, and barns, faucets for the garden and pasture areas. Pay once cry once

Morning, coffee is ready on this cool overcast start of the day. Brother is coming for a visit and going to a car show with me. Need to get the DeSoto cleaned up for the Rico Roundup. ricoroundup.com

Ruh RoH. “Houston, we have had a problem “

Apollo 13 blew fuel cell number 1, looks like my 440 block just blew out cylinder number one while sitting in an engine cradle…. Put it on the stand this morning so I can put the cam and heads in in prep to put it in the dart this weekend. That’s not happening now. Spun the thing upside down, heard a metallic noise, found a chunk of what appears to be the cylinder wall in the water jacket… pics to come once I get it all out of the jacket. Really pissed

How could that possibly happen?

Good morning Fabonites.

Was back at the wife's Journey again this week. The 'gas cap fault' came back. So got a new one of those. If it comes back again, maybe the plenum? I did have that apart a few months ago to change injectors.
My big win for the day was getting her driver door controls working. (front windows, mirrors and locks) After changing the switch pod and rebooting didn't fix it, I finally made a trip to the junkyard yesterday. Got a control module. Put it in this morning and everything works.
Next up, roof leak -on the house. Had drips at light in basement stairway the other day. It's near a valley and a vent. so could be either one. Not sure if warranty will take care of it or not (9years)need to call... Really don't want to get up in the trusses. More of a crawlspace as you get out toward the side where this is. And insulation... fun stuff.

How could that possibly happen?
My guess is it was already cracked or busted and whatever was holding it on finally let go. Trying to get the chunk out of the water jacket now so you’ll see what I mean. It’s actually too large to pull out of the jack in one piece so gonna have to cut it out

7000 steps allready this morning. I usually only get a few thousand a day. 2 more Tylenol and back at it.

Speakin of spacecraft that postponed Falcon should go in about 50 minutes. Overcast, but no evil weather warnings this morning.
Slightly off topic but, I called AT&T again yesterday to ask what to do with their modem?. Again they tried to sell me their "Air", I sort of know what that is. I told the gal, "Maybe if it was called anything else I might be interested. I pay for water. I pay for food. When I pay for air I will be packing for a trip to outer space. This crazy old man made her laugh.
