Stop in for a cup of coffee

Well crap my engine builder just called, said he was concerned about the way he put together front of the camshaft in my 340. He was talking pretty fast and me not being familiar with any of it esp. when dealing with not putting in the hardware drive a fuel pump (I'm going injection) it was really confusing. He mentioned the fuel centric, an oil slinger and the way he addressed a "bolt delete" behind the timing cover possibly dealing with the camshaft retainer. I'm glad I didn't run it, he said what he did (addition of washer or whatever he said) wasn't going anywhere yet he wants to address it, offered to buy wife and I lunch and was very apologetic. Lack of Mopar experience is showing here imo
I bet he didn't install the pump centic, and worried about the bolt to the cam, I have seen a few builders cut the bell part off the centric and put the stock parts all back on included with the washer, thus the equipment will be at a stock location, just cutting the bell part off and sand it clean. I believe this is his concern. OR I am not awake yet lol..

With a HUGE "Super Monkey"!

When I was a really young lad (>5 or so) I was given a small version of that monkey made out of socks, and since he could fly (when I tossed him), I named him "Super Monkey".

Mike I think not only are you awake but you are spot on. I can't remember the hardware that he had to buy in addition to what I gave him once he started putting things back together but I think he did cut it. I'll get a better lo-down on it when I bring it back to him next Saturday, thanks for the comment!

 He do get around some

We just had a repair guy come to the house to fix some trim that had fallen off above the stove and a couple baseboard trims in the bathroom. He brought in a mini air compressor to drive his nail gun and mentioned he'd like to own a battery op but they are spendy. We have been downsizing so I grabbed my Ryobi battery op nailer and gave it to him. Super nice guy, older than me and wife so great person to give it to, ran out to his truck and grabbed up what cash he had saying I at least had to let him buy me breakfast, nope! More room in the roll around big bottom drawer!!!

I agree, making a and older fellow happy thats working can make your day and his move forward and enjoyable, yes, good move my friend

Yup next sunday
Once you get it, if you're not "hoppy" with it (see what I did there? :)), please give me a shout. All I have around here are Ford trucks, and while I've worked on Bazza's car a bit, you guys have got me thinking it would be kinda fun to have a slant 6, 4 speed, "more door" wagon Mopar. And this may just be the ticket....

And, yeah. I'm serious! Have cash and a trailer, will travel.

(Edit: Hopefully you will backread and see this.)

Moved hoist. Going to push mustang in backwards, and if i need to pop engine out, shop crane will fit at overhead door end. Far away from toolbox but i will set up a cart. Time to go play outside.

Nice to not have to work around another jack stand
I've always used a 2x4 cut to the exact dimension so it fits between the edge/ledge created by the two fenders (I've never had to worry about scratching the paint), but looking at this I'm wondering if a piece of Unistrut and some threaded rod wouldn't work just as well.

Full disclosure Fred..

It's 47° and sunny on a vacation day in January... and I'm laying under the car

I grabbed a bottle of wine and a cigar and headed up to the deck

Nice! it's not bad here, temp is 25* above. Would enjoy cigar outside and I haven't had a glass of wine in years so might just pick up a bottle next shopping day.

Furnace went out around New Years Day, property management was a little slow on responding but have checked with the home owner to authorize a new unit rather than fixing the outdated control board (gas furnace). Not a super cold winter so far have been getting by with propane fireplace/ceiling fan and a space heater in bedroom. I kinda like not having to fix these things!!!$
