Stop in for a cup of coffee

I saw a report last night that they're expecting a winter storm thru the midwest and south central parts of the country. Saying Tennessee could get up to 12 inches of snow while those above the ohio river line get 19+... I'll believe it when I see it actually come down
I sure hope that doesn’t happen, for their sakes!

Have to drive down to Redmond today for safety meeting so 1.5 hr drive, with my windshield wipers on, rain or shine. They started acting up so had them worked on, switch replaced, motor replaced, solved for awhile then couldn't shut them off again but removing the hot lead from at a post will reset them (shuts down the entire truck). That isn't doing the trick any longer as I wait for the control/brain module, there is no fuse believe it or not, going to be a squeaky ride if it's not raining and I'll have to remove power when I get there, those damn wipers run with the truck off/key out! Have a Great Day All!

Be nice if it were easy to just remove the arms...

Holy crap did we get ice overnight! Perfectly clear, and somewhere between 1/8 and 1/4 inch. I could literally put on my hockey skates and not damage the blades it’s that thick and slick.

Going back out to put down some pet friendly ice melt. This is going to be fun……
Fun isnt hiw i would describe it. I see my truck is covered in ice too.
Years ago we had an ice storm, stop on highway, and car would start sliding into ditch. Straight sideways. Buddy is a public works foreman, told driver of sanding truck to go backwards.

Had that problem in a 07 Charger. The only way to turn them off was to disconnect battery. A wire going into drivers door shorting out

Thanks for the reminder about pulling a fuse. That will do a reset on the wife's Buick for recalibrating the hvac actuators. We don't have any rear heat.
And another thanks for that, as the HVAC actuators in my Ridgeline have been making clicking noises for a while now. Never thought of resetting them.

Fail on going to work, have a vision problem and I can't see myself doing it lol! Ray I agree with you about the fuse, what motor in a vehicle wouldn't have a fuse??? Mechanic is pretty good though and sees a lot of these trucks, think the module that failed must contain a non removable relay or something. I thought to look for a plug on the motor, nope

  • Wiper Relay: If fuses are good, the integrated relay (often controlled by the body control module) or the wiper switch itself could be faulty.
I'll poke around for the fuse today if there is one it won't be blown and I'm assuming the body control module is stuck on dumb or the relay is shorted, would think the fuse would be before all of that

Dodge?
Wonder if the body control module is in a door like caravans? Wires in door jamb would break, just touching they would cause things like this, horn randomly honking, wipers, door locks cycling. The multiplex circuitry sucks.

2018 GMC Sierra 2500, Google says fuse 25 or 54 and shows fuses on side of dash panel drivers side. I believe the fuse I'd be looking for is in engine compartment drivers side opposite of where I'm pulling power off (jump post). So I have a 10mm riding shotgun with me until this gets fixed. Also not related notified body jail that I'm posting bond, requesting storage invoice since that's all they have time to do is collect $300 a month from me and not work on my car.

A car guy that I know had a car for sale. Said rust free. Went to look at it, not too bad but top inner fenders under hood had some rust through and some lower rear fenders. So you get different descriptions from different people
When I got finished with basic training in the AF, all the guys that got 'picked' for LE tech school had a 2 week wait for school to start. Yeah, the AF kept us busy with details but also gave us some time off on a long weekend so lots of us went home just to get our cars. One guy had a long drive to go get his car in MN. We were at Lackland in San Antonio. All he could talk about was his 64 Galaxie 500 and how nice it was and I did all I could to not laugh when he got back to base with it. This car was the worse rusty car I had ever seen!!! I lived in the NE until I was 12 and saw rusty cars but nothing as bad as that 64 was. Wanted to ask him how much 'sheet metal' did it lose on the trip but just walked away when some others came to take a like at his fine ride but didn't look back to see what their reactions were. The year was 1971.

Thier unwillingness to work on your car should fall on their shoulders, not yours. 350 is what i charge for 6 months of indoor storage. Indoor heated storage is around 300/month. Quite a racket in my opinion, 10 cars in storage, thats pretty good money for doing nothing. I had Dennis’s firebird here for over a year, parked inside quonset when i wasnt working on it, never charged for storage.
That’s me, i cant expect every shop would do that, and they must have their reasons why they arent working on it.
