For a 318 sittng here on my desk.
1-5/8” part number is epc41. Thats a deep cup. I measured the 318 same hole, its sitting on a stand beside my desk. But the ones in my block are shallow.

TTI fit like a glove...

I was thinking more budget ...like some used heddman hedders in my pile of stuff.

I am not even cleaning this engine up, it ran fine and the deeper I dig in the longer the car will be out on the pasture as a dead car. Sometimes you truly have to run what you brung LOL

Just keep them clean, no need to delete them, IMO
im doing it for a multitude of reasons on the dart. Keep in mind, the dart is a pro-touring build with road race in mind. part of it is aerodynamic, part is looks and part is keeping crap out of there.

aint that the truth!

I am converting my '69 to just that. A pro touring car. For road racing, need a roll bar? How much, cage?

For Aerodynamic then you need a cowl hood to get the wind resistance up over the roof.

Hahahaha, That is sooo true. Gone are the days of a seasoned career parts man behind the counter. The guys that worked for me, could tell ya the rod bearing clearances on a 48 Desoto... LOL
That would be .0005-.0015 Mitch!

depends on your class. My theory is to build 1 class higher than you'll actually be running. So for me, being that it'll be in the modified SCCA class, i decided to go with the full cage. it'll be a custom 10-12 point. But most likely, you'll only need a main hoop bar at the most.

hell no. if anything, i'll stay flat hood if I can get the 440 to fit under it, if not, i'll compromise and run the hemi scoop hood i have already.

Best to check out the rules. I would hate to build a car and it wouldn't pass tech.

As much as I don't want to install a roll bar, it gets clearer I will have to, to use the car as I want.

yea, hopefully it will be easy to get a single freeze plug ...last time I needed only one, I about pulled my hair out because autozone and all the other cookie cutter places wanted an application or their heads will explode. The idea of selling a freeze plug based on its measured size is just way too complicated for these people. They have to know if it is auto or manual and if you have 14 or 15 inch wheels first.

Really...

When I was management at Advance we had cabinets full of them.

Someone would bring one in, I would mic it and have you one in minutes.

I have to knock it out and measure.

do you guys know if the C-body exhaust manifolds from the C-body (77 Newport) will work in the dart ?

Unlikely. I beleive Chrysler made made specific manifolds for all the B/RB engines in A-bodies.
WRT freeze plugs. Last time I just bought a box. Doesnt hurt to have them on the shelf and they aren't that expensive. JMHO

I think they assumed I didn't know what I needed or was doing and wanted to make sure they got the right part. They acted like I don't even know what it was for.
