Stop in for a cup of coffee

Hmm, properly stacked I understand a 'rick' to be 1/3 of a cord. Not getting it that cheap around here. Quality wood in season, more like 2 bills a cord, delivered, (not stacked). On the other hand, nobody is going to give $25 for a bucket full around here. :realcrazy: One place I used to camp upstate did $10 a wheelbarrow load. But that was usually mix and match crap. Some side cuts from logs with bark still on, 2x's, etc.
the only place that pays that is for campers at the national forest. No firewood allowed to be brought it without the stamp and the campground doesn't sell any firewood. all firewood brought in requires the stamp from the national forestry after its inspected. To get the licence/stamp to sell firewood that can be brought in is a long class but its free to get. its like a 9 weekend course. and has to be done every year. But people pay the 25 bucks when they camp.

Cords around here are rare, most people sale by the rick. 45 for common woods, 55-65 for hardwoods. When you do see cords for sale, its usually 100-150.

What are you calling 'common" To me 'firewood' IS hardwood. Mostly oak here. Was just looking on CL. Delivered cord is 180-200. There are a lot of guys selling by the pick-up load. at about $100. That quantity can vary a lot depending on the truck and how it is loaded

common wood around here is stuff like yellow pine, beech, ash, chestnut, sweet gum. Hardwoods would be Oak, Elm, Maple, Hickory, Walnut, Birch, Cherry even.

Cut and split Small pick up load $55. Local Craigslist. I see a lot in the $75 range and delivered and stacked tops out around $125 here in Iowa.

which is all fine for outdoor burning. Just need to season anything sappy a long time to avoid creosote. Most around here won't use it for indoor burning. Plenty of oak and other hardwood available.

Yeah. Most houses round here are running outdoor stoves now a days, very few run indoors. Back in the 90s, the state did a big push towards outdoor wood burning stoves by offering tax breaks to homeowners who upgraded from indoor to outdoor. Doing so cut down the number house fires drastically.

Finally! Understand you guys I have not seen snow that many times in my lifetime. It is coming down pretty good now. About like a snow globe if you just turn it upside down one time and don't shake it up.

Well George just left here. We hung out for a few hours, and BS'd. He even brought a girlfriend ( Angel) for Gunner to hang with. Of course I've met George before at Carlisle, and he's a great guy. He's gonna address the sheetmetal needs and paint on my GTS, after I re install the engine. Should be ready for him by the end of the month. Well... back to work I guess.....

Ricks hardwood fills a 5 gallon bucket.. and i can only get 25 bucks for it? Ladies pay a good bit more for that quantity of hardwood around these parts...
Cords or buckets, lot of people overestimate the quantity of wood the have to offer. :poke:
