Stop in for a cup of coffee

That is funny. the Loads with Rescue had thier stuff together. Never had a issue at all with them. I do remember one time coming out of N Iraq in think 03? They could not put a comfort package in due to room with the cargo going home (web seats on the sides) So a bunch of us were strapped onto our luggage on pallets for take off and landing, pretty funny they forgot to strap the pallet down on the Combat takeoff so like 20 troops sliding around on a pallet. Funny as hell. Glad it was just luggage nothing crazy heavy!

LOL Rescue usually had three racks for the Pararescue guys to rest on thier way to rescues. And one on the flight deck for a spare pilot when we did those insane missions over the ocean. I have slept many times in a portable hammock in the back above the ramp that was my spot for sure. Just cold.

The AF guys hated us, they looked at us like barbaric Neanderthals. Of course we all had bloody knuckles going up the ramp due to that miserable non slip sand finish!

Hahaha

Big difference when flying on the Corps 130s. We used a refueler on one trip... everything was covered in grease and JP.... blivets taking up most of the space. Had something break and warning light go off on takeoff.. Dude just pulled a part off the opposite side of the plane and swapped it out. Never missed a beat.

LOL then during the humanitarian mssions we had medical stantions you could clip stretchers on they were nice also. Kind of found there way on most missions with troops in the back.

Yep many a mile on Hercules! Marines just never got any money so make do with what ya got. When we flew SAC we always felt like royalty! AF has got nice equipment! Marines, not so much!

I was a single going back from leave and got a hop on a C-5 me and one other passenger on the plane. That felt weird but a nice ride.

Those are some beasties. Had an opportunity to do a jump from one. PITA coming down from the passenger deck to in-flight rig parachutes. Generally chaotic

Cool exit though

C-5 are freaking huge. Best spot on them was upper deck right in front of the stairs. One can sleep across the seats, one on the floor and one behind the stair "cage" against the fusalage wall and always fresh air because when they were full to the sandbox guaranteed the Crapper would flood over on the ride. Got a ride on a C-17 a few times once with the high level comfort package in it set up for VIP's. Man it was better than most first class airline rides.

I know the USA guys loved us in Iraq. When we got to Bushure in the H-60's it was pitch dark, I only had a NVG Monocual for me. Looked deserty. Well just did the ground lay down that night we kept hearing yelling in USA english, weird crap. Well the ground was really moist and we were in a really meddy almost clay like area. OK the next morning the yelling is still going on. Couple of guys went out to check it out. Well I think it was the 101st chuted in earlier that night and some goys got serious stuck up to thier chests in the mud, way to much heavy gear. So we pop them out with the Helos that was pretty funny in itself. So we have no working coms to get in touch with anyyone for a few days so they stayed with us of course. They loved it. They could not believe we had TP! Pretty funny one was a first SGT ad he explained they always expect around a 5% loss of tropps usually scattered on each jump and just leave without them. Those guys got seriously lucky that was our spot no way in hell you could have dug them out.

Well, I now have a plan for the day. At least a small part of it. The MA & PA railroad is just down the road and I have never been there. They have 'Early American Auto Day' today. This is 'brass era' cars. Probably just a handfull of cars, but should be some neat stuff between the cars and trains. Not sure what else they have.

Plan continues to take shape... Found out a local brewery/winery has a small Arts fair of sorts. Wife said she would go there, but doesn't want to go to the railroad car show. So we will head there. Have some lunch off a food truck. I can grab some craft beer. Then drop her home and I will scoot over and check out the cars.

It's strange how things work out...Went to start the Caddy this morning to go to church, and it was running funny, like no fuel. Check engine light came on. So I open the door to get the scanner, and there is fuel running all under the rear of the car. Probably the line that was repaired before broke loose. But I'm wearing nice clothes to go to Church, so I fired the Ol Cummins up and take that. Yup, was late for Church. I go to the Parts Store after Church to pick up an A/C compressor for a job, and this old guy comes in and askes who's driving the Ram. Says he has a nice bed for my truck, lives nearby. I ask how much, guy says $100.WTF!! Ok I'm yur buyer. Says he also has a complete parts truck. Gives me his name and address.. Yup...I'l be there this WEEK.....
