Even after letting it warm up for about five minutes I have a hesitation which leads to a stall upon acceleration for quite some time. When it stalls I hear a slight hiccup in the carb then the stall. What should I look for in terms of tuning this thing? Yes I am very frustrated.

It sounds like the accelerator pump linkage is out of adjustment. Comes in too late.

Bend it. Make it longer. Check that the pump still has a long travel. If the metal arm (linkage isn't in the hole closest to the main body, move it there.

.........U may have 2 adjust the metering rods...........in=leaner... out=richer...check ur starting point..........u can do this by pushing the rod holder down, see if it wiggles sideways, if so back the screw out till theres no play, then adj up from there, usually no more than 2 turns up................kim........

To be honest I have personally found the things mentioned to usually NOT be the culprit in the problem you're having. An improperly working accelerator pump on an otherwise good carb will only cause minor hesitation when stepping on the gas. If it's stumbling to the point where it backfires through the carb you either have a too-lean mixture or your initial timing is retarded. Check to make sure there are no vacuum leaks and all of the small passages in the carb (idle transfer especially) are clean and free of debris. Also check your initial timing advance and make sure it is correct. I had this problem with my Duster (turned out to be worn throttle bushings on stock BBD carb) and now with my cousin's 440 Polara too.

Hmmmmmmmm I'll check that too because I'm very close to giving up on T-Quads all together and going with a good old Edelbrock. This car is going to be driven A LOT and I want a smooth running engine that's dependable.
