Tire size for 14x 5.5 wheels???

Could anyone please tell me the biggest size 14 inch tire that will fit on a 14 X 5" wheel, and then a 14 x 5.5" wheel? Thanks FAB crowd!!!

My tires are 215 70s. They told me that was the widest tire that he could put on.

I think i have 225s on my wheels. 14x5.5

215/70R14 on the fronts and 225/70R14 on the rears (via the previous owner).

'by the book' the 225 calls for a 6"wide wheel. So a lot of places prob wouldn't even mount them for you.
