Wanting to run 60s front and rear on 5.5 rally wheels. Not sure of the size but I have 75 series tires on the car now and they are really close to the front edge of the front fenders. Im thinking 60s will drop the side profile down and give me more room but the 225 size. Is that about the right width to go with? Thanks
Chas.

I run 225/70/14's BFG's on mine. I think they give the best balance of looks, ride height, and performance for that size wheel.

I have them on 3 of my '66's and I don't have any weird wear problems.

235"s on back with 5.5 inch steelies...no problems

On the front? Of a 64 Valiant? Those seem a little tall and they fit ok?

i ran 235/60-14's on 14X6 rallye's in the back of my 64 dart and it was a little snug. 225's up front was as big as it could go. that car was very, very low.

You think 245s on a 14x7 wouldda fit?

if i had a rim with more backspace and rolled the inner fender lip and went to stock, or nearer-er stock height, i think so.

the biggest limiting factor on the early bodies is how the quarter curves in, so for wide stuff you need to either jack the *** end up all stink bug, relocate the springs or run a deep backspace or offset, or a combination of any or all of those.

Is the wheel well the same from Dart to Valiant those years? I think the Valiant is different is it not? I cannot remember.

I have 225/60 14 on the 5.5 Rallys up Front
and 245/60 14 Rear on the 7" Vintique Wheels

i've never had the two side by side, although having worked under both, i think the valiant is a a little more narrow toward the top. but i don't see a 245 being a problem to fit if you're not super low and it's got something close to factory rear end width (you're fitting a 9" down the line, no?)

that looks boss AF

the wider 7 makes the sidewall more flat (straight?) so the rears don't look as pinched and bulgy. super sharp combo.
