Don't know how everybody else feels about it, but it doesn't sit too easy with me. Just think it takes major balls on their part to get involved. Not sure who all the major sponsors are, but I have already sent off emails to NAPA, Domino's, and UPS that I won't be using their products/services anymore. Don't give a damn about Red Bull anyway. Any thoughts pro or con?

Do not blame Toyota, blame NASCAR for folding in on the american companys for the BIG bucks and advertizing. The Chevy adminastrators of NASCAR are spineless money grabbing morons looking for fame and fortune. They took the idea of we can suck toyota into the racing seen and take them for every thing.Well the laugh is on them,as the truck series has proven the future for the toyota race teams as big name drivers jumping ship for more money and basiclly saying I am only here for the money and not for the manufacture, wheather ford ,chevy or mopar.Toyota relide on the stupidity of the those southern boys and they did not see any thing coming and are now going to get their asses kicked and the series and the whole nascar company taken over by toyota. If you can,t see this coming, wake up,look at the other series that toyota is in.And the kicker to this, this was all done with the the big top dogs of toyota america, run by americans screwing other americans and the heads of toyota japan. You are being screwed by your neighbor for building a better mouse trap than what you built,so if you are pissed, then start fighting even harder for the manufacture you believe in and get up off your *** and voice your opinion, and stand on that chair and make sure you are heard,Mrmopartech

I agree. :wack: I used to watch more Nascar but I am slowly losing intrest again. I don't care for the "chase to the championship" and the cars do not even look like street cars. When I go to Napa I do see all the Toyota Nascar stuff and it makes me sick, also makes me laugh! I think it is embarassing that Nascar let Toyota in the "All American Race". :vom:

I enjoy watching Nextel Cup and Busch racing and don't really give a s$%^ about what manufacturers decal is on the car. None of the cars have any relation to anything that the manufactures build. Even the engines have no relationship to anything that was or will be manufactured. Toyota, Dodge and Chevy engines even all use the same bell housing bolt pattern.

It's all about the personalities and the racing is much more interesting than Indy, CART or F1. I find all this hype about Toyota amusing, not a word was mentioned when there was Camry funny cars in NHRA a couple of years back and I won't be suprised if you see a Camry Pro-Stock in the next couple of years.

NASCAR IS THE PROBLEM.
All they care about is MONEY....

It won't matter anymore once the TOYOTATHON takes over the "parade" routes (formerly known as races).....

Evernham and Roush are already crying because they don't have the Big Bucks to dump into their programs like Toyota dumps into it's program....

TV percentages are falling, and attendance at the tracks is falling........

It's just a matter of time before the folks wih all the money get tired of playing with this newly found toy, and they toss it back into the corner where maybe the folks who really appreciate REAL racing will find it, and bring it back home and play with it.

I agree with Scott....blame Nascar. Their short-sighted grab at the bucks will cost them dearly. I have been a Nascar Cup (then Grand National) fan since 1967. The appeal was the southern style of racing, which mirrored our own style up here. Going global, or even national, will kill them in the future. Truth is.....we love those southern boys.

I watched some of what was on TV yesterday and last night caught the end of one of the Bud races. It was all "Jr's in 5th place", "there's a battle for 1st, Jr's back in 6th place now", "looks like there's a bunch of cars spinning on the final lap, Jr's right in the middle of it".

Jr didn't seem to be much of a factor in the race, I'm soo damn tired of every single word out of each announcer's mouth has to do with where Jr is on the track, who's passing Jr, what Jr had for breakfast.

Then I watched some of the NHRA qualifying later on last night... that was pretty damn exciting, not a single mention of Jr.

Didn't NASCARs format orignally use American production 2door,
V8 and rear wheel drive? What happened here.
NASCAR is going to be the American version of F1.
I'll just keep watching drag racing. ( yeah, I know there is
Toyotas there to.)

I agree 100%. It's money. I cared little about NASCAR. Now I care less.

AMEN BROTHER!!!

I don't watch Nascar anymore so whatever. They are just as for sale as the next organization, just pick one: NFL, NHRA, NBA, MLB, etc.

And the reason you didn't hear much about the Camry funny cars is because you can put any kind of skin on a funny car you want but we all know who's motor is in the car. A Chrysler design Hemi.

Toyota will probably do well they will back the team to the hilt. In a few years they will change the name to Japscar, the 60`s and early 70`s were the real nascar when they had to make so many of the same car for the street- now every car looks the same with no character.

I saw this morning how the napa toyota was confiscated because of some questionable substance in the intake so they took the motor. Then Nascar officials found something wrong with the car so they took the whole car.Suckers are CHEATING allready !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Really it is a matter of time before the Camrys take over with the money/technology.

I am not saying that I am for this, far from, but as far as I know some Toyotas are made in the US putting Americans to work.

Still sucks though, seems like Nascar has sold out !!!!!!

Sure was alot of hype for the tojos before the shoot out & 500 quailfying, but not much after. They were on the pole, by the luck of the draw, but didn't lead the first lap. I do beleive it was an Evernham DODGE that led that first lap. I wonder if the folks at tojo thought they got there moneys worth? Seems to me that the so-called big stars didn't run any better than they did last year. Was Jarrett worth 20 million, he ran in his regular position - back of the pack. Waltrip tried to cheat, do you think he knew he was going to be slow. Brian Vickers ran mid-pack, thats because he is a better driver than the two stars. At least a Dodge was on the pole in its first race debute. I'm sure the tojos will get there, all it takes is money right! I do think it will be a little harder to do in nascar than the truck series.

Toyota's IMMDIATE problem is that they know they had to hire a bunch of losers that had key positions they needed. They can kick Jarrett's tired butt out the door next year, and move on.

Waltrip is a joke, but he gets TV coverage.

Toyota isn't stupid.
