What Are You Doing To/With Your Car Today?

Dry fitted my new Classic Dashes dash panel. Had to re-drill all of the dash holes, which was picky work but turned out fine. All in all, this dash panel fits great and I'm happy I went with the carbon fiber finish.

Installed the Speedhut guages and stock switches into the panel and added a red LED for the Ebrake. Had to monkey around with the Wiper switch - just had to make up some spacers to put on the shaft behind the panel face.

Now to tie all the panel wires and dash wires together into a couple of Molex connectors so the whole thing will just plug into the car quick and easy.

Looking forward to getting those "3 under the ashtray" gauges and knee knocker tach up where I can see them better.

1st Twisted Axle Car Club outing of 2019. Also one of my first GoPro attempts through the windshield of my '71 Dart GT.

Drove the Cuda 35 miles each way to a friend's house today...75 mph singing down the freeway. .....
Ran perfect and never went over 190 degrees!

Since the cam break in is on a short hold I installed the grill and front bumper. The grill looks nice but the bumper out of the box is fucked. You can see the passenger side is bowed and the bolt holed didnt line up well. AMD brand new. Noticed black smudging on the box. Must have been damaged during shipping. Will have to call Summit here shortly for an exchange.

Had to file the headlight surrounds flush on the corners. Weird that you would need to do this on a new piece.

Now you need new lenses to put in that grille.

Got the camshaft broken in. Ran outta gas right at 20 minutes. Worked on idle tuning just a little. Found a few things that will need attention. Passenger side manifold has a leak from the heat riser hole that wasn’t plugged up (Doh) I never noticed it before installing. Oil filter adapter needs to be snugged up more. Drivers side exhaust pipe hanger has a squeak to track down. No other major leaks detected but time will tell.

Short video at idle.

Was just gonna swap out the fan and the ugly flex hose quick. Hell... it might turn into the Radiator/ shroud install...since its drained already...

Ya, I couldn’t leave it at just the hose/ fan change... dropped in the new aluminum radiator (kinda too shiny for me). Thinking I might need a bigger spacer to drive the fan into the shroud more.

Is that an OER aluminum Radiator?... Looks like my aluminum Barrel top. And when I first got it I also thought "to shiny"... But Peeps at the hangout thought it matched the chrome Commando air cleaner... Now I love the look... I think You will like it !!! Looking Good Snate66 !

I LOVE that radiator! Where did ya get it? For the fan, I think you should add a hayden Fan clutch # 2765. That would probably put the fan right where it needs to be and will also be helpful.

I got it from Auto City Classics out of Isanti, Minnesota. It was a little cheaper than the OER ones I saw and they treated me right. They let me return the first one they sent even after I painted it with Radiator black from Eastwood before noticing I received the wrong one.

I'm not really a chrome guy, most of the shiny bits in my engine bay were from the previous owner. But, it is starting to grow on me. I'll run it a bit and see how I feel.

Someone here on FABO posted a ebay link but I cant find it now on their store site.. autocity1958 on eBay
Passenger side mount is not perfect and I might have to put a spacer / gasket along that side to not bend the flange but so far it feels like it belongs in the space. Proof is in the performance tho.
I have been thinking about the Hayden clutch and have it bookmarked in my wish list. Thought I'd line everything up first and see what clearance I have.
