What Are You Doing To/With Your Car Today?

Before and after today...

Pounding holes in your sheetmetal always leaves a lump in your throat..

I cleared out the outdoor decorations from the side of my Dart. Now to clean the stuff off it, and around the other side if it. Then I can start working on the K member and front suspension.

Drove the dart to Carl’s Bakery to buy the shop doughnuts for my birthday.
Swapped out the 3.91 gears for 3.23’s on my lunch break.
Finally got to use my LubeLocker 3rd member gasket. No leaks so far.

Repaired the oil puddling on my intake manifold. So strange the middle 2 bolts on both sides were loose. The 2 bolts fore and aft (on both sides) were still torqued down nice and tight.

Working on a bracket that will hold two 2-1/16" gauges. In this case it will be a tachometer and an oil pressure gauge.

Don't have it mounted to the column yet, just holding it in place. And still need to paint the bracket and do the wiring. But I think it will be cool when done.

No pictures, but took the 69 dart for first ride this spring today. Did a big old Smokey burnout for a guy who was walking with his 2 kids , didn’t see the unmarked cop sitting there watching me lol. They gave me thumbs up and and don’t do it again wave! Thought for sure I was toast lol. The guys 2 little boys thought is was pretty cool, think dad did too.

Here a few before and after. For the day. I had no idea there was a light bulb in this metal cover. Lol had this car since 2002.

How do you like your AVS2?

cleaned up all of the engine wiring, side glass installed, windshield trim on and then gave her a bath.

gotta finish all of the polishing in the engine compartment, organize the plug wires, and put on door panels this week.

Haven’t fired it up yet with the AVS2. I still need to get my brakes bled and get a poor mans alignment done. Trying to resist the urge to do much tuning/idling until I can drive it and break it in proper.

I’ll update you guys for sure

Went to trade cars yesterday, and the car wouldn't start. Had issues in the past, so I'm not surprised, just a little bummed. To cheer myself up, I got my '68 Monaco 500 on the road for a shakedown/observation run. Went well after a little two footing it to keep it from stalling. Carb will be gone through, tires ordered, and maybe a front end kit. It may be easier to fix and drive this than the Polara 500 I was planning on. Gas gauge even works, never had that in an old car. Spare windshield included in purchase, bonus!
