What Are You Doing To/With Your Car Today?

-
Got torque converter and flexplate lined up on the 67 Coronet and got to spend time with my oldest doing it.

Blew out my lower back working on some equipment earlier in the week. So, I'm sitting on my recliner with plenty of lumbar support. Damnit.

I'm in line-staightening hell...
Lots of looooong features on this baby!

Removed & replaced all the studs/lugs on the Dart GT's rear-end. 4 of them broke when I was loosening them to try a wheel/tire swap.

I need to either cut off or remove and replace my rear wheel studs. The guy I bought the 8.75 from was planning to race it so he put 3" long studs on. Man, are they long!!!!

Hanging out with everyone at the Heartland National Goodguys show in DesMoines Ia.
Car count is down a bit , venders are almost none existing, swap meet is small, but still a great time to be out with friends at a show.
Hot as hell!! But wouldn't miss it.

As you can tell, it is already over a hundred degrees here today at 10am. It is obvious that the thermometer is full of crap.

Already hit the homely depot for some wire wheels

Now I get to pull the rear seat and carpet to get to the rest of the floorboards. Trunk needs some wire wheel lo e too.

More pictures as progress is made.

First edit;
No shop vac. I are smart. Next paycheck I suppose. Shoutout to Rainy for motivation on this project and no money for the shop vac since I decided to squirrel away a few hundred bucks for the new crank.

I guess around 7 lbs. Gonna replace them anyways. Ill try to find the link for the seatbelts ill be going with this evening.

Not going to pull the rear deck today. I am thinking of may want to consider either nothing there, re-using the plywood if it's good or pressed carbon sheet. That stuff is light and stiff as hell.

Yeah, looks like birdshot and a hole from the wad. Quick cheap and dirty patch, or new floor?

Time for some Advil and tequila. Owch.

Edit;

I did a little looking, a new floorpan is $80 here

RH / 1967-76 DODGE & PLYMOUTH A-BODY FRONT FLOOR PAN PATCH

AMD also has them but I don't need the whole right side, just the patch panel.

Body Components - Floor - Floor Pans

I will want other new sheetmetal, rear valance, right rear quarter, right side outside rocker... the only other bodywork is just some hammer and dolly time at the left tail light, and I'll want to redo the bodywork on the passenger door.

You putting your ride on a diet?

Oh hell yeah. I blame @Cope for putting that idea in my head. The plan calls for a fiberglass front clip, decklid and bumpers and lighter bumper brackets. I saw someone was fabbing them up for a good weight savings and price, eliminating as much cast iron in favor of al-YOO-mini-um, seatbelts for window regulators and so on. I still plan to thermal and sound insulation though. How much will I save going heater delete? Probably not worth it, same goes for music, I would like to keep at least some creature comforts.

Another aw damn... that's gonna need fixed too.

Cool, that’s pretty much my newest obsession, weight loss but keeping thing street appearing. What was the weight initially and what’s the ultimate goal?

I'd like to get down to 165-170 lbs.
:rofl:

over on bigblockdart, they have a weightloss program, lemee see if I can find it.
Put your big block dart on a diet

If I can cut enough weight so the car sits less than 3k with me in it, I'll be happy. If I can get better, I'll be REAL happy. I wanna be REAL happy.

Well changed out my mounts as I had the Schumacher poly ones in . Drove it for 3 days it just did my head in @ idle these would rattle your teeth mind you I had these in for 12 + months but when I started driving it a few days in a row enough was enough it really started to **** me so I changed them out for the full rubber , man these mounts were tall and was having trouble with the collector hitting the torsion bar As these were taller by 13 mm and in drive it did my head in got online and scored the narrow biscuit type mounts Absolute bliss quiet like a Merc no rattles But runs like a scalded cat. **** I must be getting old as I would have tolerated these solid mounts . So nice to drive I don’t know why I waited so long to change these out !

I’m busy parting out this poor little car. It’s a V8 4 speed car, which in Valiant 200 trim is probably pretty rare. Unfortunately, there isn’t much left of the structure, but all of the drivetrain and trim is in good condition. And, it came with another 64 Cuda that was full of parts!
