What Are You Doing To/With Your Car Today?

Nothing with the car, but got the '97 Polaris out for a spin. It's only got 960-some miles on it! Had to go through the carbs because the pilot jets were clogged but she's running fantastic now. We had 2 years of no snow here so it's been sitting since the Winter of 2022.

Too cold out for car work. For the past couple days I'm working on replacing the drum bearings and seal on my front loading washer. It sits in a closet with the dryer stacked on top, it's a Kenmore so it's been pretty reliable for over 20 years. A couple years back it started making that noise, but I let it go as it a pain in the a$$ to fix it. After getting progressively worse I finally had to do something. Its not that bad once it's out in the open, which was a challenge in getting, it there. I got it apart and am waiting on the new parts, $120 as opposed to over $700 for new.
I inquired about repairing and the service guy said get a new one. I would equate it with swapping a transmission without the mess.

Shopping for a complete exhaust, for my 2014 Caravan. I already bought new converters. Cut the old crap out, and replace it with better flowing stuff. I'll remove a resonator, and the
rest is already better flowing stuff.

The cats are solid, but the front heat shield came off by hand. LOL.
My "bank-1" is plugged and smells like a plugged toilet, and the flex joint is leaking terribly. I get headaches from the exhaust. It's been getting 13-15mpg. I'd
say it's a bit over-due.

Funny but the ram van i did the front cat was like 900 oe the rear Was like 3k think its bank one...
We opted for a non oe cat and it was ??500
But the fitment was horrible
Then the crappy y pipe flex thing ...not sure what's available...Will check monday

Hell, it doesn't look like you need to even think about a complete restoration. That is sweet. Great score.

Still playing around with the used 440 Edelbrock Torker II I bought a few weeks ago.

All the exterior cast in logos have now been removed, as well as two of the machining location tabs on the front side runners.

Lots of grinding, filing, and sanding to get to this point.

I like using a lite coat of black Rust Oleum sandable primer to help me see how the transitions look.

Two more machining tabs, the coil bracket, and some more overall smoothing to go.

Still trying to decide if I want to remove the heat crossover, open up the sides, and weld it all in yet.

Tom

Spent the night in the garage last night replacing motor(both front and rear) and transmission mounts in the wifes 2013 Dodge Dart, hopefully this will solve the persistent vibration at low RPM. Ive read these cars are bad for that and these mounts have been a problem since day one.
Fingers crossed
Update: Vibration is gone, smoother idle in and out of gear, smoother drive :)

Practicing, practicing with my newest toy a 325X TIG welder. Wish I had some talent to use it better like I bet a bunch on here already have. It sure makes MIG welding easy by comparison. Even got a cart for it off Marketplace for cheap!

never did like tig...after useing one just for autobody i realized my old way of diling down the mig useing o30...and moving my heat all over still gave me the outcome i wanted in the time i wanted...but my hat off to those who love the tig..its a clean weld..but oh so slow

I drove my Duster to mass yesterday morning and drove it around long enough to get everything up to temp and burn a little gas out. Then I backed it into the garage so that I can begin unbolting accessories to swap out the engine. Hopefully I'll have it back on the road by late spring/early summer.
