I'm hoping to get at least 60% finished with my Demon project. I'm hoping to get a new job asap. We're also hoping to finish renovation one of our houses, and short-term renting out another of our houses. I'm also hoping to get a lot of camping, hiking, and bicycling in. I'm also planning to buy a small cuddy boat and go camping on the lake every now and then (we sold our jumbo boat and are looking to downsize). Also, there's an American Airlines plane that crashed into a nearby mountain in 1934, the crash location is uncharted/unknown to the public (it was front page news back in 1934 but has since faded from all memory). So I'm hoping to find the wreckage this summer, as a fun day hike.

My Swinger doesn't need much at all. My Polara needs the turn signal switch replaced (again) so I have brake lights when I need them and I really need to get the wipers working. The heater core has been bypassed so that's on the list as well but not 100% necessary. I sure would like to order up some Legendary seat covers and door panels but man are they spendy. I keep telling myself that the longer I wait, the more expensive they will be. Swap meet sales and advertise parts to sell may help get there.

You have rental properties, why would you want a job too?

The rental properties are not operational yet. We paid cash for all of them, now need to take the next step to prepare to get them rented out.

I used to live in the Town of Newburgh and had never heard of that airplane crash site. I would have loved to hike up there and try to find that.

Well it's not going anywhere, you can check it out any time!

That's awesome. I don't know how it works where you live but here in Missouri you can write off the insurance, taxes, maintenance and interest, the interest you won't have to worry about since you paid cash. Hope it works out for you. You can loose your butt on rental properties.

Thanks, at 55 years old it will eventually be time to stop punching a time clock and secure us a steady income into our golden years! I'm super bad with finances but have found from previous clown landlords that even a monkey can manage rentals... I agree, finding good renters is a gamble, but there are wonderful tenants out there somewhere.. I have 3 units in the U.S. and the wife has 4 units in Playa Del Carmen that can be expanded upwards to 12 units (concrete block building that can have more floors added)..

Don't do it. Just don't do it.

Push to get my D250 painted, so I can get it back together, get the /6 D150 back together with fresh seam sealer and the AC stuff back in the dash, either find and fix the leak on its 727 or finish the a500 I have and swap those
Finally get the 78 fury de lean burned, including (over and above that) figure out why the gas gauge died, and swap my 302 heads, Eddy performer, one of my TQs and the cam I have for it in and drive the hell out of it.
Get my excess cub cadets tied up, back running and sold. I have 3 of those.

The 3/4 ton is part of a bigger plan. It's gonna be my camper hauler. I have a 28' jayco that I want to be able to use more than I am able to now

  • heading to the Gator Nats in March.
  • Moving toward having my '68 as my daily driver.
  • Selling off some properties.

Get a job that I don't have to worry will lay me off in a year or 2 (happened twice in the past 3 years, just got laid off again a month ago) so my wife and I can start having kids.

Anything else is a luxury at this point.

I agree. If someone told me when I was a teenager that architects get laid off enmass after the project is done, then I never would have become an architect. I've had 6 jobs in the last 5 years. Non-steady work pretty much guarantees that you can never get a car loan or a home mortgage because you won't be able to pay the bills during the off-times.

Find a headlight for the buell so it actually looks like a regular 1125 and not some botch job. Then restore the plastics that I've wrecked from dropping it as a dumb youth and get new tires. Then actually ride it for more than 3 weeks at the end of the year lol. I'd like to go back to my previous occupation if possible this year. If not, I'll need to get a second job. More cheap house projects like painting and not so cheap, electrical stuff. Finish the cold side of replacing the water lines, which are the original galvanized steel from 55. Actually practice guitar as opposed to playing around on songs that I know and skipping the hard parts. Maybe get the preschooler on two wheels (long shot) and the older one on skates/skateboard since they apparently want to snowboard. Found that out while tubing on Saturday.

Get the redone dash in the 66 Formula S. Fish more. Bicycle more. Get to South Dakota to see family and friends. Chryslers at Carlisle. Maybe even get the Correct Craft Barracuda ski boat going this year.

Put an inline, hydraulic brake switch in. That old electrical crap, is a never ending problem. All my builds have a hydraulic switch...and no issues.
