I don't have the car together yet. But I am curious if I took it down the 1/4, what it would run. I am sure there are lots of cars here with a similar combo. This is a bare bones car with manual steering and brakes. No a/c and has bucket seats. I am guessing it weighs around 3300 pounds with me in it. I am 750 feet above sea level.

My combo:
67 Dart
340
400 horsepower at the flywheel
4 speed
3.91 gears

With 245 ~ 60R x 15" {Tire Diameter = 26.6"} {Tire Width = 7.7"}

1967 Dodge Dart

Shipping Weight would be close to .....#3070 lbs. with a 340.
Curb Weight would be around .......... #3200 lbs.

Are you a Flyweight Boxer ............... #112 lbs.

Typical 1/4 Mile Performance
A 'stock' 340 4-Speed with 3.91 Gears would lay down 14.20's @ 98 MPH, with a proper tune and with a good driver in a 1968 Dart GTS.

That is with a 'corrected' Horsepower Factor of 295.

Need more info, {ie;}
* Exhaust
* Carburetor
* Intake
* Ignition
* Camshaft
* Suspension
* Fuel Pump
* Clutch-type
* Shifter

On the 'guess', a 340 that is putting out 400 HP ~ 4-Speed ~ 3.91 Gears
and 245-60R-15" tires

13.20's @ 108 MPH

400 horsepower for sure???? Or are you just guessing....

12.80's -13.20's properly sorted out. All in the 60 FTS.& traction.

Mine has about the same HP, and with 3.91's and slicks it ran 12.20 on the rich side so I think it had around 12f o's with more tuning. it's an auto and weighted 3460 with me in it.

No flyweight here. #200 lbs. Need to lose about 25 lbs. though. Lol

I am not sure but I don't think that would get you 400 HP....too small of cam and carb....370 hp is my guess

That cams is in low-mid 230's @ .050,& really aggressive ramp rates. Easily enough can,for the 4 hundo mark. Try the 650,got nothing to lose.

245 tires and a guestimate of 400 crank hp.

I'm guessing 13's, maybe 14's.

But there is only one way to know for sure.

Low 13s should be achievable. The tires and chassis are the weak link most everyone else mentioned. Finding a sweet spot to launch without blowing the tires off or bogging it down too much will be the big factor. With slicks mid 12s should be pretty easy.

Back in the early 70s, in high school, a bunch of us gearheads got together and headed for the racetrack.Some of us thought we had fast cars.( Only one did.) Some of us thought we had quick cars.(only one did) Some had put all their hard-earned part-time gas-station money into their engines. I reasoned, that since my 340Swinger could boil the hides, I should concentrate on getting traction.I installed some slapper-bars and ran the E70-14s that the car was born with. And off to the track we raced. Since it was nearly an hour to the track, we nearly killed ourselves just getting there. At the end of the day, the car with the longest ET had the highest Mph. The guy everyone had so thoroughly trounced back home, took his 72 Demon 340 to 115mph, in the 15s.The quickest was a guy I regularly beat. He had a lot of money in his engine. He cheated.Sometime while we were staging, he managed to get some slicks on his car. and took his 69 340 Swinger into the 12s. I did pretty good, posting 14.4@98 mph with 3.55s. My slapper bars were dead weight. We sure had a lot of fun that day. Afterwards we gathered together,back home, drank beer, and told lies.(bench-raced).
Hyup,Those were good times.
